I think the Steelers have a real shot at going 11-5, and I think that will be good enough in our tough division for the division title.

On a side note, it will be interesting to see how the Steelers rebound if they lose a game because of a turnover or something similar to that, it seems that the Steelers players and most of Steeler Nation has bought into Coach Tomlin.

verks36
08-07-2007, 10:28 AM
I really think we have a chance to go 12-4 or 10-6.

12-4 = losses= @ browns, @ pats, vs Ravens, @ broncos

10-6= losses= @ browns, @ pats, vs Ravens, @ broncos, vs bengals, @ rams

thats what i think.
Good?

Looking at our schedule we can win alot of games this year. The only one i am scared of is @ pats.

Also i think the browns will surprise us opening day.

TheManOfSteel
08-07-2007, 10:43 AM
This is easy. Listen if you dont know your STEELERS by now your not going to know. The Steelers will go 11-5 to 13-3. 6-10, 8-8 or whatever else is not going to happen. The D will be playing great when James Harrison healthy and get his starting job at OLB. I look at are first 7 games and think we can take and should take them all. I totally think playoffs this year. Also see the division champs is in are reach for this season. Well, anyways hope all you injoy the year. I know I will.

I'm going to say 10-6. I am def. pumped to see us get a chance to beat the pats on their field this year. We have played them so many times at home I want to see them get blown up on thier on turf.

Reason: I don,t think some realize how good we were winning the superbowl from a wild card spot. We went into Cincinnati, Denver, Indianapolis and kicked but.

I also don't think they see that if it was not for injury the Steelers might have repeated last year. The way I here sports annalist talk about last year its as if Ben wasn't in a bike accident, have an appendix removed and suffer severe concussion all within a 3month period. All they quote is his stats. After you almost go through a windshield on a bike, your ability to process information in 3 seconds will be diminished for a period of time ( like 4-5 months not 4-5 weeks ). I believe he was thinking more about getting the ball out of his hands than going through progression and finding the open receiver.

I agree many people dont realize the fact the ben went under anesthesia twice withen a couple of months thats going to take a lot out of any body plus that was only his third season ben will be great:tt02::tt02:

i say we go 13-3 12-4 at worst.

This is how i see it.

We lose to the pats in regular season play, then beat them in the AFC championship.

OR

We hand the pats their first lost in the regular season (ending perfect season), then beat them in AFC Championship :)

Honestly If our offense plays the way they did against the saints, I mean tossing the rock all around the field, Then I believe we go 12-4, but if we try to pound pound pound we are going to lose half our problem last year was that yeah Willie could break the big run but he couldnt get those powerback yards you know, Hopefully Tomlin realizes that although Parker is a great back he definetly isant a bruiser, although in some situations last year I think he should of played way more third down back because Davenport sucked ass and Haynes was hurt, also did anyone see that Davis guy he's pretty good is a a undrafted rookie as well

The key to the Steelers season this year will be getting off to a fast start and winning the games they're supposed to win. Those first 5 games are all very winnable, almost must-win games. Broncos, Bengals, Ravens will be a tough stretch. Then Browns, Jets, Dolphins will be three more winnable games. Finally, the Steelers finish with a brutal 5 games: Bengals, Patriots, Jaguars, Rams, and Ravens.

Browns W (1-0)
Bills W (2-0)
49ers W (3-0)
Cardinals W (4-0)
Seahawks L (4-1)
Broncos L (4-2)
Bengals W (5-2)
Ravens L (5-3)

Jets L (6-4)
Dolphins W (7-4)
Bengals L (7-5)

Still to early to tell.......I'm more in the lines with Hometown.....I broke down the Steelers schedule when it first came out that it looked like at best 9 or 10 wins.....I'm going to stick to that....But then again you just never know....I don't think many of us thought the Steelers would win 15 in 2004 after coming off an 6-10 season in 2003....Then I don't think many of us thought the Steelers would win 8 coming off a Super Bowl title in 2005...

This team has the talent to be one of the best teams in the AFC...........But with injuries and also adjusting to new coaches this team could just win 7-8 games.....

Actually, I was just about to dissect the Ravens and Bengals schedules, I'll put them up a little bit later. About the Jets and Rams...obviously there will be upsets here and there with just about any team. We have a tough schedule this year, but I don't see us losing more than 5 - that ought to see us in the post-season.

We found out last year how important HFA is - travelling to the Colts after the Bolts was just too much.

I honestly believe that we can win anywhere from 8 to 12 games this year if Ben is truly back and our OLine is much improved. If our O Line is not any better than last year, it will be a long year for Ben again. Our RB's looked strong against the Saints but dont start counting chickens until they are actually hatched...

Here's the way I look at it...

@ Browns L
Bills W
49ers ?
@ Cardinals ?
Seahawks ?
@ Broncos ?
@ Bengals L
Ravens W
Browns W
@ NYJ W
Dolphins ?
Bengals W
@ Patriots L
Jaguars ?
@ Rams ?
@ Ravens L

***Note: I just split the division (The order didn't matter to me). You could probably put both Browns games in our favour, but I'll give the benifit of the doubt (I know I shouldn't).

i think they have a legit shot at being 6-0 heading to Cinci on 10/28...after that it is a toss up

At least 10-6, probably better.

We'll lose to the Browns? NO WAY JOSE. I just can't see Quinn rescuing this team in time and with Steinbach out as well as Frye being the joke he is, Cleveland won't win.

i'd say somewhere between 10-6 and 14-2 when i was watching that hall of fame game that 1st team offence had me pumped!

Fair enough...

I can understand being pumped but that game means very little. First team defense for the Saints stayed pretty vanilla in their approach. Don't get me wrong there were a lot of goods signs but the first preseason game won't make or break a team.

In fact, if preseason counted the Bengals would have been Super Bowl Champs last year with a 4-0 record :toofunny:.

Not to mention the Raiders - they were undefeated in the preseason last year as well....

Here are my predictions!

@ Browns W : Browns will eventually be a tough team. However, in the beginning of the season, they will be way too dependant on their running game. Until the can balance it, they will not be able to take advantage of our struggling CB's. With that said, they will have to run, and run into the teeth of a monstrous run defense.

Bills W (2-0) Simply won't be able to keep up with us on offense and defense.

49ers W (3-0) Are coming along. However, they do not yet have the ability, just like the BIlls, to put it all together. Furthermore, I think we will have a break out day from a second string RB on this day. 49ers are in the league with pass first/quick run offenses. If najeh or another RB starts blowing them over, it is all finished.

@ Cardinals w (4-0) The coaches for the Cards think they know our players weaknesses. However, new schemes and player assignments will put them out of position to make the plays they are hoping for. This pick is a little risky however, especially if our CB's start getting lit up in the preceding games.

Seahawks L (4-1) If Seattle is healthy, they have a very good ball club. Steeler fans have to put homerism aside on this one. The RB is one of the top 3 or 4 in the league. The passing game is very strong. They are balanced. This will be the first game that falls on the head coach to make some snap judegement decisions, and the learning curve will be too steep.

@ Broncos W (5-1) Tomlin is a smart man. He won't make the same mistakes twice. The team will also be coming off a bye (I believe) and Tomlin will have two weeks studying film. Broncos will get exploited.

@ Bengals L (5-2) Bengals are stronger in the first half of the season. This however, will be thier only win against us.

Ravens W (6-2) I just don't see the Ravens doing good against our new D. Furthermore, they are going to be very confused with all the offensive wrinkles. Thier jumping about will actually put them out of place to make a number of plays.

Browns W (7-2) This will be a much tougher game. Will will win, however, we will walk away knowing that we are no longer playing the same old Clowns.

@ NYJ W (8-2) Gotta say win. don't know why, just feeling it.

Dolphins W (9-2) Team is just too schizophrenic. They are starting to fall into the Raider pattern of bringing in talent, regardless of whether they can play in the system.

Bengals L (9-3) Once again, when the pressure is on, they will fold.

@ Patriots W (10-3) Pats would have lost to us last time, but for the clock guy (It was a home game, just a mistake). For some reason, I just see the Pats losing the magic.

Jaguars L (11-3) Same Jax. however, we are not the same Steelers. Opening up our offense, and new wrinkles on D, we will take this game.

@ Rams W (12-3) Why? Because we will win homefield advantage throughout the playoffs with this win.

@ Ravens L (13-3) Our starters will only play a quarter.

13-3 We will have home field advantage and go deep into the playoffs. I hate to say it, but I see a loss in the AFCCG against either the Colts or the Patriots. Again, this is primarily because we have a new coach that will not have enough time on the learning curve. [/quote]
