CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Kyle Busch chose to drive for Joe Gibbs Racing next season and began informing other teams Monday of his decision.

``Kyle has made his decision and is in the process of informing the teams of his preference,'' said Jeff Dickerson, who represents Busch through Motorsports Management International.

``As there are many details that still need to be worked out, Kyle will not be making that decision public at this time.''

Tony in a Toyota??????????????

UPDATE 2: Kyle Busch has finally decided where he will race next season, agreeing to a deal to drive the #18 Interstate Batteries machine for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008 and beyond. Busch will replace J.J. Yeley, who will move to Wood Brothers/JTG Racing next season to steer the #21 Ford. Busch made his decision after recently narrowing the field to three teams; Gibbs, Dale Earnhardt, Inc., and Evernham Motorsports. An official announcement is expected within the next 2-3 weeks.

In addition, JGR will jump from Chevrolet to the Toyota camp beginning in 2008, joining Michael Waltrip Racing, Bill Davis Racing and Team Red Bull on the list of teams running Toyota Camrys. Neither Busch nor JGR have made any official comment on the move, but Gibbs officials have already informed Hall of Fame Racing that they will not continue to provide the team with engines next season, prompting Hall Of Fame to contact Richard Childress Racing about a similar engine-supply deal for 2008.(Motorsports Soapbox)(8-6-2007)

I've always been a Tony Stewart fan.....

I never really watched NASCAR until I worked at a place where everyone else did. I picked TS b.c the first race I followed was the 2001 Charlotte race and Tony raced at Indy and in Charlotte. Then Denny Hamlin from Richmond, my hometown, got on with JGR - so I like DH as my 2nd driver. Will be good to have another solid driver with Kyle Busch...

Toyota? Well, Tony won a championship in a Pontiac and a Chevy, so now he'll win one in a Toyota.

It's justa rumor....I'd say Tony would quit before driving a Yota...

speaking of rumors...I've heard Sam Hornish Jr to NASCAR -- would be Team Penske with 2 and 12

next season - that's Hendrick with Gordon, JJ and Dale Jr, Gibbs with Stewart, Hamlin and Kyle Busch , then Penske with Kurt Busch, Newman and Hornish

there's a good chance that's nine of the top 12

Silly season starts earlier every year.

I want to amend my earlier prediction. If JGR goes Toyota, Kyle will NOT win more races than Jr. next year. But when TRD catches up, Kyle will show he's a better and more talented driver than Jr.

But I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around Jr. at Hendrick. How will the redneck contingency of fans respond? And if they don't jump off the Earnhardt bandwagon now, will they finally when Dale Jr. is exposed as only a better then average driver, and not the second coming of his dad?

This is silly season in overdrive!

could not agree more about Dale Jr -- it is very clear that he'll be the third best driver at Hendrick and it's not even close. He's popular, but come on.....I'd say I can easily name 8 better drivers

gordon, stewart, johnson, burton, hamlin, harvick, kenseth and kurt busch....

and I could make the argument that newman and edwards are better too

I can't bash JR..............I like him.

This is where all those questions about it being him or the equipment get answered.

Oh, I like him too. It's his fans I question, and by fans, I mean fanatics.
