Man help a friend load up his car so he can get home and I miss how the Steelers D starts acting like the first half offense!!!!

And yet the announcers don't have anyone to replace them. I mean it is pre-season, maybe the networks should start having them fight for their jobs every year too! Especially when they start sounding like Madden - the babbling baffoon who still can't get over the immaculate reception!!!

SHUT UP MADDEN!!!!

I'm going to create a new type of headache...it can only occur while Madden is calling a game. It will be known as, "THE MADDEN MIGRAINE!" Eventually I think I could have a lawsuit against any network that hires him - eventually providing millions for those who suffer, epsecially those fans whose favorite teams reside in the AFC because he's such an NFC fav!!!

Signing off for now since it is not regular season - not the blowout the score reflects but a decent effort with some loose ends to tie up on offense (Ben got big yardage but made several bad throws)

Barlow can't go to the pratice squad. He has one year on the active list which takes away your eligibility. I think Russell is the only one of the backs who has both a chance to make the team or be put on the practice squad. I'm not 100% sure about Davis but I think he used up his eligibility as well.

I know he is so annyoing.

First ya paulmalu is still in not it is just tyrone carter LOL

Do you know about this kid quarterback out of Hawia suppoused to be pretty good this year.

See for the steelers If you want to be a saftey or corner the most important thing is pass rushing. Ya coverage is important but the most important thing is pas rushing and gettign to the quarterback.

WOW JOHN JUST SHUT UP

who knows, you guys may have been shipmates at one time.

We do live in a crazy world today.

You know, I dropped in to a WalMart last week over in TX while I was on leave. The guy behind the counter in Sporting Goods was looking at me kind of funny and finally asked me if I was in, or had at one time been in the Navy. After rogering up he said my last name questioningly, when I said yes, he knew me. He even named the Duty Station that we had served in together a number of years back.

I hate to say that I barely remembered him (he didn't work directly for me). But bumping into people does happen.

I said it before in this thread and I'll say it again. The first team offense wasn't bad. The 2 turnovers sucked but I'm sure Tomlin will work on them about that. The oline played a little better than they have the past 2 preseason games. Ben looked like his old self, when he was given time, he made the play. He scrambled really well too. He did throw behind a couple time though. Parker didn't look to bad but it seemed he didn't have his burst with him, maybe it's because of the knee injury though.

Tonight the 1st team offense looked better than they have the past 2 games, I'll say that. Everyone looked comfortable in the new system, espically Ben.

The defense looked awesome again. Got great pressure on McNabb and Kolb.

I was actually pretty impressed with the line tonight. They did a good job. There was a CB blitz... and Fanaca didn't do the best... but that is about what we can expect from him this year.

From last year... I think he had that clock in his head that was clicking a little faster then necessary. that seemed to start slowing down.

Oh yeah...Steelers looked great tonight.

Ben needs to learn he doesn;t have to be spectacular every play. (INT)

Holmes...look for the ball...then catch it....then don't fumble it.

Oh and this isn't college, WR's don't wear the #10. On second thought, on you, #10 makes all the sense in the world.

Fast Willie is most underrated back in the NFL.

:thud:

Alan was recognized even by Al and John for performing well in the game. There were some highlights of his blocks also.

Being that he is a professional, on the football field, I guess I'm curious what you would expect from him? He has made his frustration clearly known; He has also made his commitment clearly known. He will play hard this year, as a Pittsburgh Steeler.

Just a few opinions...

Minus a few turnovers, I thought the offense looked pretty solid. Roethlisberger made a couple of bonehead decisions. The INT early was just idiotic. His passes thrown behind WR's. At the same time, he also made a couple of nice plays. Buying time and finding a guy late. Also, I felt our screen passes are looking very good up to this point compared to last season. Davenport is showing his worth on the screens. Also nice to see Miller pull in a few.

Charlie Batch is something else. Last night he was looking like our #1. I find it hard to find another #2 in the league I would rather have on this team. I can breath a little easier knowing we have Homestead Charlie behind Roethlisberger in case of emergency.

Minus the Washington game, I felt our defense is playing pretty damn good. Holding Philly to 115 yards at halftime with three sacks and unlike the Washington game, getting off the field on third downs (Philly 1 for 7 at HT). Not bad at all.

Our punt return still scares the hell out of me. I'm not sure how many chances you give Reid before you decide to close that party down. Is it going to take a "Colclough lesson" during the regular season? I hope not. Fumbling the ball is only half his problem. He doesn't hit the lanes or put on any moves. He has yet to show me anything. At this point, I would rather see Wilson back there returning. It's not as if we have many other solid options on PR's.

Sepulveda shanked a punt. It happens. The kid has been booming them since August 5. I'm not concerned.

For the most part, I'm pleased with the way our first teamers are playing. There are some kinks that need to be worked out (I'd have to believe that's the case with many other teams), although PR is still a glaring concern in my book.

I two specific plays jump out at me.

1. Fanaca COMPLETELY blew an assignment, and allowed a DE to blow through and hit Ben. Fanaca stepped up a couple of steps and hit a LB... who wasn't rushing.

2. Fanaca pulled on a play, shot up ahead of the RB, and hit a defender. the thing is.. he TAPPED him, and fell down. Both arms crossed, like he was afraid of getting injured.

Then I go back to what he said before the season, about being worried about injury, not going ALL OUT... and all of a sudden, I am MUCH more suspect of him.

Until he proves otherwise, I won't be surprised if I see him going 80%, if that, on the field.
