Let's have a look.

This should probably be in the fantasy forum, but you're probably going to find yourself in a lot of trouble, especially on bye week.

Your starting RBs are sick.

Maybe package a deal and ship on of the two steelers WRs for someone from a different team probably a RB. You'll be glad later to have the depth.

I have Heath as my TE too but I think Cooley is going to be a stud this year.

i also drafted santonio holmes and roethlisberger tho roethlisberger will not start for me. i took vernon davis over heath, just bc we never use heath. hopefully this will change this year. and when it does, then ill pick heath up. but santonio is gonna have a sick year

My draft is coming up this Thursday night. I'm gonna try not to be too much a homer. Pitt. DST is gonna be one of my top defensive choices tho. Santonio I think will be worth a look, and I doubt anyone in my league is really giving him much thought. I'm expecting to pick him up as a bargain in a later round. Time will tell...

I actually drafted Holmes late in my money league.

My one buddy wasn't there and was very disappointed when he didn't have any Steelers (he may be a bigger black and gold fan than me). He was also upset to find he had drafted Houshmandzadeh.

With my receiving core already seeing Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, and Reggie Brown I traded Holmes and Carolina's RBs for Jacobs and Housh.

Lopsided? Maybe.

But I can't help but feel I preyed on his allegiances...

You'll tank, sorry it's the truth! You need to get better at every position except TE and WR. Your RB and QB choices all but guarantee failure. You drafting partners must have been licking their collective chops. This is what my draft looked like (10 people participated):

Starters
Tom Brady
Brian Westbrook
Laurence Maroney
Plaxico Burress
Terrell Owens
Anquan Boldin
Kellen Winslow
Chargers D/ST
Robbie Gould

Bench
Deion Branch
Vincent Jackson
Brandon Jackson
Tatum Bell
Dolphins D/ST
Brett Favre
Owen Daniels

You should look at the Ravens or Bears before selecting the Steelers D IMHO. Even the Chargers, Dolphins, and Packers are in the mix after Baltimore and Chicago. Don't forget to consider the scoring system.

P.S. Being a homer in fantasy football = you usually won't win much. The Colts might be the only exception. Manning, Harrison, Wayne, Addai, and Vinatieri are all top notch fantasy players, just stay away from the D and TE.

this is my team:

QB Peyton Manning
WR Larry Fitzgerald
WR Santana Moss
WR Devery Henderson
RB Joseph Addai
RB Reggie Bush
TE Todd Heap
BN Darrell Jackson
BN Donald Driver
BN Edgerrin James
BN Jerious Norwood
BN Steve McNair
BN DeAngelo Williams
K Robbie Gould
DEF Pittsburgh

the league is 1/2 point per reception, 1 pt. per 20 rushing yards, and i think 1 point for every 40 pass yds. also 6 pts. per touchdown, 4 pts. per pass TD.

How do you guys think I'll do.

Well done Sir!

3 quality RB's, with two promising backs in Norwood and Williams . Start Driver over Henderson and you'll have 3 quality WR's . Jackson and Henderson (More so Jackson) will be a great bye week fill. Awesome QB, enough said. Good TE and K. I'd look for a spare D, as the Steelers allow the points and yards to fly at times, mostly through the air.

yeah i would have drafted another d in the 15th but williams was still available then, and i figured if the steelers do badly then i would pick up another one, but otherwise, it would be stupid to carry 2 defenses... and after i drafted i realised that i'm pretty screwed on week 6... like half my team is on bye week then..

and at first i though i should start driver, but with the way the settings are, henderson is projected for more points, so I'm starting him for now... but if he's injured then DD is the way to go.

and thanks for the props

and i just realized that my kicker is Robbie Gould from the bears... i copied the wrong name of the starters chart on my yahoo league.

How can Henderson be projected higher than Driver? Even with your fantasy format? I don't know dude but every ranking I've got places Driver in the top 15 and Henderson somewhere in the 40's! You'll change it to Driver eventually, lol, even Jackson will have a better fantasy year than Henderson.

yeah i dunno it must have something to do with either Yahoo's predictions or something... but for week one D-Jax is projected for most points... and i just looked at the matchups, and I'm projected to get the most points out of any team in the league next week.

My apologies, your right, the first week MIGHT favor Henderson. NO plays IND and we all love playing against that IND D. GB draws PHI which is definitely a tougher match up.

Overall Donald Driver will see almost twice the TD production and reception count. I'd just lock Driver because of the TD's but I see your point.

Your teams looks pretty good. Is Brett Favre or John Kitna still available? If so I'd scoop them up as Losman may struggle again. I love the chemistry between Losman and Evans. Unfortunately Evans will be doubled all year so say bye bye to the Buffalo offense. I'd start Barber over Boldin, Barber will see a lot of goal line action for Dallas, just like last year. Barber is projected around the 160 mark and Boldin the 140 mark.

All this won't matter halfway through the season, as your starting RB's will likely be Gore and Barber. Use Boldin as the flex and Jones-Drew will be a big bust this year (Just my opinion, I don't trust 5 and 1/2 foot backs :wink02:)

EDIT: CantStop85 just made me realize that you have Hasselbeck, start him!

Yeah I would definitely start Matt Hasselbeck over JP Losman...and I would start Marion Barber over Anquan Boldin, maybe even over MJD.

Has Turner shown that he's going to use Barber as a goal line back like Parcells did?

If he isn't then he loses a TON of value.

Turner?:wink02: Jason Garrett/Wade Phillips know that 6-0 225 (Barber) beats 5-10 210 (Jones) :sofunny: and he can't resist the 14 +++ rushing TD potential. Barber will get a lot of red zone touches.

thanks for the replies fellow steeler fans...i will start hasselbeck and barbor for now. i was hoping to see losman blow up this year, but only time will truly tell and if so...i have him on my team. 4t2n0, i think kitna got picked up, i'm gonna have to see if favre is out there or not. i like jones-drews potential, old man fred taylor will probably get hurt like usual and therefore with the production of jones-drew last year, he will get the butt-load of the caries over the other back (forgot his name)...if taylor gets hurt.

The biggest plus with J-D is he is there usual goal line runner too...

Here's what I wound up with in a 12 man league. (Not in the order I drafted)
QB Drew Brees
RB Larry Johnson
RB Marion Barber
RB Deshaun Foster
WR Terrell Owens
WR Santonio Holmes
WR Mike Furrey
WR Vincent Jackson
WR Bernard Berrian
TE Alge Crumpler
TE Heath Miller
DST Baltimore Ravens
K David Akers
I also picked up QB JP Losman and WR Devin Hester, both of whom I had dropped recently and picked up WR Jacoby Jones and RB Michael Pittman.
I ended up getting Santonio in the 5th round. I think I may have gotten the bargain I was looking for.
After week one, I won my first match up but had the lowest total score of anyone who won with 88. The guy I beat had 87. (Whew!)
Since it's a fairly deep league I still like my team and hope it will get a little more scoring opportunities for me this time.
