Holy crap.

I read on PFT that there was due to be a 'wave of suspensions' soon but didn't figure Rodney to be one of the offenders.

I guess this was his way of trying to recover from that catastrophic injury - how he thought he would get away with it is another thing.

Disappointing.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned some Steelers may be implicated at some point, especially since they recently canned a team doctor for buying 150 grand worth of the stuff with his credit card.

Me too - it sounds like the testing for HGH is pretty haphazard and where you get implicated is if you are dumb enough to have your name show up in seized records or a subject of an investigation does like P-Funk or Q and rolls over on you.

Mortenson said Harrison did not test positive so apparently his name turned up in the investigation and he fessed up to Goodell - in the attached audio link Mortenson and Lennie P. laugh about teh word being out that the Commissioner does not like to be lied to)

Not a good sign for whichever team has the assistant who has been questioned.

Nope, I'm thinking Reed. His kickoffs have been traveling a LOT further than normal for him during the preseason, at least. I doubt hitting the gym accounts for all of that extra distance.

You know, I first became suspicious when Reed grew that horse mane on his head.

Maybe Reed's extra power comes from other recreational activities...

If I took HGH and still looked like that I'd ask my drug dealer for a refund.

HE was so stupid he ordered it online.

the human growth hormone is undetectable so it is really hard to get caught for it.

YOu think when he ordered it he woul have used a fake name or had it shipped to a friends house.

I'm not shocked that Rodney Harrison used HGH.....I have said many times I bet at least 60 percent of NFL players use it since you can't test for it....You know what I don't care since the NFL is going great....

But Harrison puts it all in perspective:

"I want to make it clear that not once did I ever use steroids," said Harrison. "I did admit to the commissioner that I did in fact use a banned substance. My purpose was never to gain a competitive edge. Rather, my use was solely for accelerating the healing process of injuries I sustained while playing football.

Oh, OK - so it's really no different than taking Advil?

In further news, Rodney has not once been involved in dogfighting.

isnt healing quicker a competitive edge? so i guess that all the players in the NFL that you cheapshotted over the years should be using HGH to heal quicker? dirty person=dirty player

way to go ramrod! looks like its 2 sb's he was juiced up for. its safe to assume there were plenty of his teammates that were sticking eachother in the butt to not gain a competitive advantage in those injury plagued seasons.

Report: Harrison bought HGH in ’04

Days before the Patriots beat the Tennessee Titans at a freezing Gillette Stadium in the 2004 playoffs, safety Rodney Harrison placed his first order for HGH, according to a story in Sunday’s Albany Times Union.

The story, which cites unnamed law enforcement sources, said Harrison received a package of preloaded syringes at his home about two weeks before the Patriots beat the Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII.

Harrison would go on to make several discreet calls placing more orders over the next three years, the paper reported.

Harrison admitted to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in late August that he received illegal drugs and was suspended for the first four games of the season. He denied ever taking steroids, but in a statement on Aug. 31 said he took the drugs to help recover from the injuries he sustained over a 13-year NFL career.

“My purpose was never to gain a competitive edge,” he said.

Harrison started all 16 games in 2003 for the first time since 2000. He also started all three playoff games. He returned in 2004 to once again start 16 games and sealed the Super Bowl victory over the Eagles with an interception.
