Hammer generated quite a bit of interest from many posters about our awesome friends, our dogs! His pup is a great looking chocolate Lab! Thought it would be cool to see everyone's dogs in a thread!

This is my Wolf Kavik. He's 120 lbs. and almost 14 years old in human years. We've had him since six weeks, and purchased him from a local breeder. We received a full geneology report, along with great information as it pertains to owning a Wolf. The breeder would not allow the purchase, without knowing the people, and having them spend time around the Wolf family (mother, huge father, and 7 wolf cubs) Each prospective owner must own other dogs, as part of the pack, and have a good size yard for exercise. An in-home visit with our family and our dogs was also within the purchasing criteria.

Over the past year our two labs passed (Spirit was our 16 year-old crazy girl, and Sparky was our 14 year-old happy-boy) and that has slowed him down a bit. There are now times that he will howl in his sleep, a message that he misses them. There is nothing like a deep loud howl of a wolf.

Kavik just craves lots of love and is very social with people. When he was young, he would shy away from almost everyone. Over the years he has left many gifts at our back door including possum, birds, and one huge rooster! (We had feathers everywhere!) He can't stand skunks!

Hope to see yours!

Thanks so much for the compliments!! Kavik would really love you both! He would walk up, look you in the eye, then know where you stand. Then he would just rub against you, begging for love!

He really does know people. He is the same with kids. If they are loud, tend to grab, or just oblivious to a 120 lb. animal, he will just stay away from them. If they genuinely love animals, and want to just pet and love him, he will lay down next to them. So, we never leave him alone with kids.

Bud & Ben are two awesome looking GS's!!! How old are they? Siblings?

We got them in the summer of 2002, so they're 5. And yeah, they're siblings. I was away taking summer college courses at the time, and the conversation with my parents went like this:

"So, did you find one?"
"No...we found two."
"You did what, now?"
"Yeah, we're not sure how well this is going to work."

Seriously. Try house-training two puppies at once. Turned out okay, though.

with a pet pig its pretty hard to have big dogs, so we have miniatures. i never really liked small yappers, but always liked dobermans. walter is the only yapper. ironically his voice takes after his namesake, walter payton. high and squeaky. shanna is a rather masculine butch and hates her dress. when i put the dress on her son chunk she humps him.

When we got married, we had his and her dogs. This is my stepdog Cali....she is a 10 year old husky-collie mix that my husband got for free out of the back of a pickup truck in Kroger parking lot.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/sueincinci/Photos/caliwebx.jpg

I lost my 11 year old silver mini schnauzer, Libby, last year.....she died peacefully, but suddenly in my arms one night. ( I have to include because her gentle soul will forever live on in my heart......and in a pretty box under the endtable!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/sueincinci/Photos/Libby.jpg

A few months after Libby passed, we acquired Maggie.......a black and silver miniature schanuzer who has brought the youth back into old Cali and the laughter back into our lives......what a clown!! (plus she's a HUGE Steelers fan....we had her shipped all the way from Seahawks country via Delta. When she got to Cinci, she was greatly relieved to find herself with a Steelers family )

Such a great photo of Libby! I'm sure her soul will live with you forever! Just to make you smile!

My dogs automatically show up in every post.

The avatar is my beagles, Maximus and Stella. They're littermates.

The black and gold dogs belong to my parents. The shaggy yellow one is an SPCA rescue.

LOL.....yeah he's a little on the large size for labs I think. My old lab of 13 years that passed was around 75lbs.

They grow for about two years. The first year, year and a half, they get as tall as they're going to be. The second year they fill out a little more.

Don't currently have any pics but will try and take some...

I have a pure bred lab (English) that I bought from a breeder in Butler... He is yellow and... No joke... 190 LBs last time he was weighed... I would say that's a generous understatement as of now... His name is Scout...

My other dog is a mix of a Lab and a Pitt Bull and is ginger (orange/brown) color... Can jump well over my dining room table and is pretty small (atleast compared to my other Lab)... He looks like a fox - one of the most beutiful animals I have ever seen in my life. His name is Pippin.

She is a mix breed as you can see she's a physco dog!...:sofunny:
