Well, that didn't take long - busting on the mascot. It's all you've really got since the Steelers have owned the Browns ever since they came back into the league. And it won't get any better for you guys this week, as you will be facing a very motivated and VERY pissed off Steelers team thanks to your old pal Bill Cowher.

The Browns have been angry for years and it hasn't helped. Just hope Bodden doesn't turn his ankle again.

I have been saying that for about two years now. To fire his arse and get the Browns a real coach. Not one who plays favorite with his freinds and puts them ahead of his team winning. But Noooo not him, his Buddy Moe Carthon and him go way back and they will dummy up the plays, heck they plays were so predictable already a peewee football player could tell you what was going to be run. But his was going to dummy them up more, right. He makes me sick to my stomach. I still love the Browns just I hate Crennel.

Is what a post penalty? We don't give post penalties around here - we either give you a 30, 60 or 90 day vacation or we just get rid of you once and for all. I can accommodate you if ya like. :wink02::chuckle:

Do you seriously believe the ramblings out of your mouth or where you just reaching for something idiotic to say here?

Well you succeeded! :applaudit:

Just think if it wasn't for Marty Ball you might have beaten Denver, at least once.

And do you realize that even Cowher was a Pittsburgh native before he was picked up by Cleveland and then became a coach there. And then where did he go - oh that's right to KC to wash the stains out of his system. Then after he was cleansed there he was allowed on the hollow grounds of Three Rivers.

So before you start beating your chest about how something was "one" by a browns player you should make sure you listen to Paul Harvey so you can get, "The rest of the story!"

Good day now.

Brady may be a "supercuts" model looking guy, but he seems like a good person to me.

I'm actually really excited to see how he looks, His arm may not be as good as Andersons but he's a much more intelligent QB.

I'll give the kid credit for that. A lot of so-called SUPERSTARS look the other way ad ignore this type of thing. If Brady has success in the league, I hope he maintains this same philosophy if he reaches that level!

uhh..We do OH-IO too. I witnessed that at a Van Halen concert. No joke.

Cleveland Hates Pittsburgh, like Ohio hates Michigan.

Stuff like that spills over into different sports sometimes. The Majority of the fans around here don't really care.

If you're so offended about it, then I donno, don't go to Sporting Events in Cleveland. I wouldn't get all upset if they were chanting about how much we suck at Steelers games, Because I don't choose to attend those.

Oh, and it doesn't offend me. I get a chuckle out of it. I get a good laugh when at a Cavs game when they need to crowd to make noise (such as the opposing player attempting free throws), they have to flash the Steelers logo on the scoreboard.

It's just envy, that's all.....envy and obsession.

Okay, if it is Envy, then why do the Meatchicken logo as well to get us to boo? As I can recall OSU has dominated them the last seven seasons. Hardly any envy there.

It's a rivalry morseo than obsession. Hell, if thats an obsession, then why did Myron Cope co-write Jim Browns Auto-bio? :flap:

Thats what I'm saying for many NeOhioans, the axis of evil IS New York/Boston/Michigan/Pittsburgh. You're an exception to one of those.

However, Pittsburgh is the exception for me. Absolutley love my Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.

Only Cleveland team I don't like is the Browns.

Jesus, I just posted this on another board last week, lol.

My grandparents are from the Uniontown/Brownsfield area of Pennsylvania. My Grandpa is one of my best friends, he had a big hand in raising me. He's a lifelong Steelers fan, and he pushed me towards them at an early age. However, he didn't push me towards any other sports or teams, just the Steelers.

Indians- Okay the Pirates suck ass, they have my whole life. When I was growing up (born in 1985) the Indians were the shiat. They are also easier to follow seeing how I live in Cleveland. If the Pirates were any good, they'd be easy to follow too. I am a fan of both, seeing how one is in the AL and the other is in the NL, it makes sense at least to me. But when the match up, I'm Indians all the way.

Cavs- Pittsburgh doesn't have a pro basketball team, making it super easy to root for the Cavs.

Buckeyes- I love Pittsburgh sports teams, not Pennsylvania sports teams. I live in Ohio, so Ohio State was a natural choice. Plus my step-dad is a big Buckeye fan, so he had some influence over the desicion. I am a Pitt Panther fan, but not nearly to the brinks of my fandome of the Buckeyes. Oh and if they meet...OH-IO!

Don't worry, you didn't sound like an ass, it was a legit question. Maybe you haven't noticed, but I live in Cleveland, Ohio.

Nah, no prob.

I have the family legacy thing with My first fav. college Team Purdue as my dads from that area, and went to their games as a little kid. My grandpa went there and my uncle played Guard there. I mainly root for OSU as well because I want to have fun with my friends who pretty much agree with me on every other team. I hope that doesn't sound to bandwagonish. As for the Tribe I grew up during the World Series runs they made in the 90's and were my first introduction into the Sport, but i would've loved to see them in the 80's just to prove my fanhood of the team. LBJ=From Akron, my hometown area, so Cleveland being the nearest b-ball team and him playing for them is a no-brainer.

As For My Brownies, I was a fan, but when I was a kid, they left town, I remeber my dad REALLY hating Moddell and I remember being really excited about the Saints win we had in '99. I think I really became more of a fan actually when we were at our lowest and The Steelers were at their Highest, There were so many folks in my High School the week of Super Bowl XL that had so many BS and lame excuses all of a sudden that they were Steelers fans all their life and all this other crap, when they could not name more than two players on the roster, and we're mainly wearing the jersey's as a Fashion statement. That sorta really got me angry as I thought that was really pathetic to just jump-ship for the Rivals (I'll have to tell you some stories sometime about how pathetic some of these folks were in regards to being fans.). Hence why I'm not too high on Pittsburgh at the moment. I'll never bash a true hardcore Steelers fan though.

Don't worry that's not bandwagonish. As long as when they play each other your not flip-flopping who you root for, it's not bandwagon at all.

I understand where your coming from with the hate of Pittsburgh. I don't like all the bandwagoners that have jumped ship either. I am a big believer in picking a team and sticking with them through thick and thin.

It was starting to get that way with the Bengals around here. Before 2005, if you saw a Bengals fan he was from Cinci or Kentucky. And it was rare to see one. Then all-of-a-sudden there was an explosion of tigger-stripes up here....and fans said it was "okay because they are an Ohio team" to which I said was bullshit.

Be true to your team. Living the lows with them makes the highs so much better because of what you went through.

As a Browns fan, you may have more lows than I do....but I freaking respect every Browns fan that has put on any peice of Browns gear from 1999-2006. The 2007 year, the bandwagoners started jumping on. We'll know who's for real and who isn't if the Browns hit a skid during the year.

Used to have a Timmy Couch jersey..I lost it somewhere.. I auctually wanna re-wear it to prove how hardcore of a fan I am. :) But I do have Braylon Jersey the year he got drafted, still wear that even though its lettering is starting to detoriate, I need to get a new one soon. I'm hoping to get a Joe Thomas one.

Havn't had any Cinci-tucky fans around here oddly enough. Did notice more and more Browns gear this past year, so I think I get what you're saying there. When the Browns finally do win the big one, I and my fellow true Browns fan will probably party so hard that they'll have to call in the national guard, pretty much anybody I've met and mentioned that has said about the same thing. Mos. Def. not saying its this year, because with Cleveland "It's always next year" LOL.

An oldie but goody:

A Browns fan, a Steelers fan and an Eagles fan were all in Saudi Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of booze. All of a sudden the Saudi police rushed in and arrested them. The mere possession of alcohol is a severe offense in Saudi Arabia, so for the terrible crime of actually being caught consuming the booze, they were sentenced to death!

However, with the help of very good lawyers, they were able to successfully appeal their sentence down to life imprisonment. By a stroke of luck, it was a Saudi national holiday the day their trial finished, and the extremely benevolent Sheik decided they could be released after receiving just 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheik suddenly said, "It's my first wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping."

The Eagles fan was first in line, so he thought about this for a while and then said, "Please tie a pillow to my back." This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. The Titans fan had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain when the punishment was done.

The Browns fan was next up (he almost finished an entire fifth by himself), and after watching the scene, said "All Right! Please fix two pillows on my back." But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes before the whip went through again, sending the Browns fan out crying like a little girl.

The Steelers fan was the last one up (he had finished off the crate), but before he could say anything, the Sheik turned to him and said, "You support the greatest team in history, and your team has some of the best and most loyal football fans in the world. For this, you may have two wishes!" "Thanks, your most Royal highness," the Steelers fan replies. "In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me not 20, but 100 lashes."

"Not only are you an honorable, handsome and powerful man, you are also very brave," the Sheik says with an admiring look on his face. "If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it. And your second wish? What is it to be?" the Sheik asks.

"Tie the Browns fan to my back."

Here's a tip for Browns fans (doesn't work as well for Steelers since our top draft picks aren't usually busts). Wait until the next Tim Couch bombs out of the league after 3-4 years, go to Dicks Sporting Goods, buy any and all authentic jerseys of that player you can find (they'll usually be like $20 down from $200), find a place that will re-letter and re-number them (I found a place to do it for like $40), and eBay your Brown little hearts out. You'll invest about $60 per, and you can probably sell them for $150 if they are new with tags.

Since you aren't going to get any wins out of us (unless Can't Graham makes a surprise comeback), there: Don't say the Steelers or their fans never gave you anything.

whats the deal browns fans? i just checked ticketmaster and you can still get tickets to browns games after they went on sale a week ago. you guys are always bragging about how great and loyal your fan base is, well wheres the support? for once, your team isnt terrible, so tickets should be as high in demand as ever. tickets are only $32 too. steelers tickets to all games were all sold out within 5 minutes and they start at $59 each plus fees. and dont use the ticket scalpers as an excuse either. the demand is high for steelers tickets, thats why they go for twice the face value and more on ebay. if the demand were that high for browns tickets, the scalpers would have bought all those games up. but i guess not many people really care to see the clowns live in action.

Believe me, we Steelers fans have had hard times and some very disappointing seasons, but not so much since 1991. The 80's were rough, admittedly, but we came through those years and continued on with our winning tradition where it left off upon the arrival of Coach Cowher and now with the Tomlinator. :tt02:

It becomes fairly obvious with a couple of losses and a bad game overall where the divide is between diehards and bandwagon hoppers. Unfortunately, I remember all too well some of the comments around here, as well as from some of my friends, after the disappointing 2006 season, i.e. "I'm done with them", "they suck", etc. :blah: I am the eternal optimist - those who really know me are well aware that I don't give up on my teams (this goes for the Pens and Bucs too) until the last second ticks off the play clock.

The rivalry is still very much there, imho, between the Browns and Steelers and I feel it will intensify almost to where it was this season, as I view the Browns as our most viable competition for the AFCN crown. :tt03: The Bungles and Ratfinks are jokes. :chuckle:

Believe me, we Steelers fans have had hard times and some very disappointing seasons, but not so much since 1991. The 80's were rough, admittedly, but we came through those years and continued on with our winning tradition where it left off upon the arrival of Coach Cowher and now with the Tomlinator. :tt02:

Forgive me for this one, but the gig is still out on Tomlin. He coached one good season with Cowher's players. I believe that Tampa Bay coach did that after Tony left, and Barry Switzer with the Cowboys. Don't get me wrong, he's done the right thing by ensuring the system matches the players, but it could still have been a fluke.

I suppose the same could be said about Crennel. He sucked his first 2 seasons as the Browns HC to the point where a lot of Browns fans were calling for his head on a plate. The Browns finished a respectful 10-6 under Tub-eo last season but "it could still have been a fluke". :flap::wink02:

True, but in Romeo's defense, he took over a very crappy team. They fielded a team that might not have a lot of games in the NCAA. Phil and Romeo came in with a vision for the team and have slowly built towards that vision.

Cowher wouldn't have won many games with our team the first two years of RC's legacy. RC and Phil both admitted when they first came on board that it was going to take a while to fix the team.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. RC did in fact inherit a bad team. I think he along with the front office have done a great job turning it around. The only flaw I saw in RC was that IMO Anderson was the starter from the get go. Instead, they tried giving Frye a shot.

hmm..Hard to say.

Huge reason why Quinn didn't play last year is because RAC is reluctant to play Rookies..Especially QB's. Remember in '05 Frye didn't start until Dilfer was hurt.

With DA auctually doing a passable job, it was pretty much decided to let him do his thing, and have Brady soak it in as much as he could be.

From what I've seen of Brady he seems to be a mobile intelligent QB, who's accurate..but doesn't have the rocket that DA has. He idolized Bernie Kosar as a youngun'. He's got the right attitude for this franchise and for an NFL QB. Problem is..So does DA.

We shall see how DA does against Dallas, if he pulls a frye..no doubt we'll see Brady in by halftime..if not..Well..Stay tuned.

...until Sept. 14th, then after DA gets a Frye pulled over his head by the Steelers defense, Quinn will come in and we'll pull a Frye over his head too.

Then it's time for the 3rd-stringer. Harrison generally has those for lunch. :wink02:

I always thought Quinn was a weak-arm like Chad Pennington...I saw him play several times at Notre Dame, and I just got that comparison.

Beg to differ on that. Unlike Frye, both of those guys auctually know what to do with having a pro bowl tighted, reciever, and secoundary reciever, and having one of the best o-lines in the league.

Mind you the secound game was lost because of the defense not getting any pressure on Ben due to not having much of a d-line. That problem is at least slightly fixed. I know, I know.."They're fat and overrated" :P.But compared to last years line, they look like the Steel Curtain.

I don't see being a blowout this go around. The Browns have gained even more ground since last time, and The Steelers didn't gain any ground this offseason in regards to improving the o-line, and adding some more youth to the D. The game will be close, and it could very well be a classic.

Stretchers? Shiskababs maybe. :chuckle:

Sacks mean nothing. Sacks help, but they really do not affect the outcome of the game, as you can see by the above posted stats. Pressure is what counts, even just a little bit each down.

The Steelers will blitz the heck out of Anderson and Co, you can bet on it. With Woodley entering into his 2nd year, and now starting on the left side, I think we'll be getting more than enough pressure on your QB.

I have to see it believe it. Not being critical, but for all the hype, the Browns still have to prove their so-called "offensive juggernaut" is really worth the title. Same goes for the defense.

I do agree though. It will be a good game. Besides, if the D's not playin' well, you can also bet your game ticket that Ben will fight like a demon to not lose that game. You might recall what happened in Denver last year. We lost that game, but if the D had stepped it up one more small notch, we'd've had another W.

For me it's one or the other. Big Ben or the D. And I don't think you'll shut down both of them.

the browns definitely improved, I admit that. however you say the steelers didn't?

they already improved at center with hartwig( even a rock could do a better job than mahan at center :flap:), marvel's finally heathy and shouldn't have any back problems, and the big force in kemoeatu steps in at guard ( though this one's arguable since he has yet to prove anything) .

no added youth to the D? woodley is finally a starter, timmons may start over foote, and even if he doesn't he'll get plenty of playing time.

Have fun trying to get through Joe Thomas. :flap:. The Steelers D. last time was pretty neutrilized in the trenches the last time. I don't recall DA getting sacked all that often in that game.

Roethlisberger scrambled 30 yards for a key touchdown during Pittsburgh’s second-half comeback, then set up his own go-ahead 2-yard TD pass to Heath Miller with an important third-down run as the Steelers rallied from a 15-point deficit to beat Cleveland 31-28 Sunday.

Win or lose, I'll still be around. Then again, I haven't made any predictions yet. I want to see how DA plays in the preseason before I annoint our offense as worth looking at. If he still can't check down, our only hope is that Quinn is worth something. They hype in camp is that he's good, but as an OSU fan, I don't exactly buy into all the BQ hype.

I also want to see what other kinds of injuries occur to both teams. I take that kind of stuff into account. I'll be rooting hard for the Browns, like I do every year, but that doesn't mean I can't be a realistic fan.

If our D-line is worth the money we've spent on them, and DA does improve his decision making, I'd say the Browns win. But that's a lot of ifs.

Your grammar is atrocious.

Well he wasn't always brainless. Just since he let an old lady take him out..... very soon when he's running through your guys defense for the game winning score.

There is the sentence, without ending punctuation. Thus, the only subject of the sentence is Ben. Therefore, those who are interpreting your post as Ben running through his own line are interpreting it correctly.

I would impose a fine for such infractions but I have a feeling that your math skills are more atrocious than your grammar skills!

The thing is, most of the members of this forum really don't care for the childish stuff... don't even put up with it, even from members of our own fan base.

If you want that... I have a couple other forums I can direct you to.

We don't care here if you support your team, or even talk some smack. However, when you don't ADD to the discussion, then your are a waste of space on this board.

And please, don't take out on us what you see other Steelers fans doing. Cripes, I have gone off on Steelers fans on Browns forums before for being idiots.

The rule doesn't stop all of the spam, Father, but Gary and I are pretty good at the search and destroy missions. :ak47::chuckle: We also get help from our members who spot it and alert us to it if we aren't on the board which we greatly appreciate.

Don't want to speak for Gary (though I think I know how he feels), but I try not to bend the rules. We didn't create them - we are just asked to enforce 'em.

Dawg - I've been over to your site (first non-Steelers site I've ever become a member of) and didn't go in there and start cappin' on the Browns. I don't have many posts there, but I believe all of my posts were respectful. Internet bullyism is not something I routinely engage in - don't have time for it and my maturity level is greater than that.

You can disagree with fans here all you like, but we ask that you do so in a respectful manner, especially outside of the BF. We allow a little more smack-down in the BF. You may want to follow the examples of some of your fellow Browns fans - j-dawg, CB1977, TroysBadDawg and even one of our newbs - xflfan, along with some of the fans from other NFL teams, to name a few - silver&black, Hawk Believer, CS1985, all of whom are very well respected around here.

Big Ben has a big arm but what happened to his big brain did it fall out when the Ravens smacked him so hard that Ray Lewis ate it for a little snack, or did it get ran over when he decided to collide into an old lady's car and then proceed to get hit but a bus. And Alan Fanneca is done with you guys, there goes your guy's all pro Guard. Willie Parker isn't going to be Fast Willie no more. But we will see who comes away with the win this Sunday. Hey all of you play nice! We are not the ones on the field, we are not the ones playing the game. Did someone around here forget we are the fans, we sit in the stands and yell, pay outrageous prices for tickets, beer, food and what ever else they want to sell us.

Yet we come here and make fun of the others because of their liking another team. Shame shame on all of you.

WE are all fans taken in by the owner and their collective creed.

They make fun of the Brownie we make fun of What's it's name... McFeely or some such (he is secretly a child molester or a pimp).

Head slap and I deserve it:doh: should not have said that.

RoethlisBURGHer

TBD, that was a rather assanine post.

First, of course we're gonna make fun of Browns fans...we find it entertaining. When a Browns fan enters a Steelers MB, he better have some thick skin because he isnt going to be coddled.

Nice shot at the Steelers "mascot". Most Steelers fans dont like him, so we're not offended when he's bashed.

Third, Drukenmiller has said if he does buy majority owership of the Steelers he wouldn't move them. He's from Pittsburgh and has been a lifelong Steelers fan. I don't see him moving Pittsburgh anywhere.

And no team is being moved overseas. Not the Steelers, not the Jaguars, not the Rams. Right now moving a team outside of the United States is slim, the only two possible places being Toronta and Mexico City.

I'm not making fun of him because he's a Browns fan. That's just another of the many symptoms of his disease. I'm making fun of him because if he knew 1/10th as much about football as he thought he did, that'd still be 10X more than he actually DOES know.

ONLY a Browns fan would mock another team for making the playoffs. It's been so long since you've been there, you've forgotten that the basic difference between a GOOD football team and a BAD football team is making the playoffs. Hell, the only playoff team that matters is the one that wins it all (hence: the Browns since 1964 don't matter), but there is a line between success and failure, and while the Steelers consider anything short of more Super Bowl victories failure, I would think that Browns fans would consider just getting into the playoffs the ultimate success. Hell, it ain't like you guys are EVER going to a Super Bowl, let alone going to win one.

We're not all perfect. Dawgbone is a high school kid that I'm sure is better in school than he is here on your forum. GIve the kid a break.

Now...back to work. :coffee:

CB - you know I respect the hell out of ya, but we are going to have to agree to disagree here. This kid comes over here with his chest out strutting like a peaco ck, taking shots at our team and our members. Maybe I'm just different and though I do make an occasional typo, I use the "preview" prompt to make sure my posts can be understood by everyone who reads them. Dawg's posts are very difficult to decipher most times, quite honestly, and again - maybe I am different, but if I'm going to take the time to go to another team's BB and take shots at their team and fans, I'm going to make damned sure my posts are legible, understandable and that all of my "i's" are dotted and my "t's" crossed.
