Does anybody know if Jimmy Psihoulis is still alive? You know he was the Steelers Polka guy in the 70s............After every Steelers TD I play the Steelers Polka...Its the old version which is classic in my mind....I know there is new versions out there with recent Steelers players........But I don't know if Jimmy had anything to do with those....I tried to search to see if he is still alive and didn't find anything on his bio or anything...So is someone could help me that would be cool...

As far as I know, Dan, Jimmy is still alive and kickin'! Haven't heard anything around the Burgh to the contrary.

I, too, loved the original version! Here are the lyrics for those youngin' Steelers fans who aren't familiar with it:

Da-Da-Da-Da-Ta-Da - Charge!
We're from the town with that great football team
We cheer the Pittsburgh Steelers!
Chuck Noll and all his friends are all on the bean
Go out and get them Steelers!
HEY! Bradshaw, and Rocky, and Franco and Lynn
We love you Pittsburgh Steelers
It's been many years in coming
Just keep the Steeler machinery humming
DE-FENSE, DE-FENSE - Make them scramble, intercept the ball!
DE-FENSE, DE-FENSE - Keeps the Steelers always best of all!
Mean Joe, Mean Joe - Do your thing against the other team
He's so tough from year to year, we're so glad he's playing here
Now join with me, and sing the Steelers cheer!
We're from the town with that great football team,
We cheer the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Winning's a habit, not only a dream,
Go out and get them Steelers!
Gerela's Gorrilas are here for the show,
and so is Franco's Army,
It's been many years in coming,
just keep that Steelers machinery humming.
Offense, Offense, take that football all the way up the field!
Offense, Offense, let's score and score and never yield!
Franco, Franco, can you believe we're having a running game?
The Steelers are so great, and so hard to overrate,
Good things will come to those who work and wait.

Thanks Hometown......Plus I'm glad you posted the lyrics for the younger generation...We have to keep those traditions alive.......My mom used to have the Steelers Polka on Piano rolls...lol.......My dad would sing the polka all the time when I was kid....lol They are proud of their western PA roots and I'm proud my family is from that area.....
