Tomlin strikes me as more similar to Noll than Cowher. He just seems like an old school football coach.

Thankfully,

Tomlin seems the type to let the organization shine brighter then the coach. Funny, Cowher and Noll were the same way.

We perceive, or put our thoughts into it as we see them over the years, but in the end, they all were willing to be part of the bigger organization.

I think we'll find out a little bit more when we have a tough stretch to get through.
I think he's a little bit of both cowher and noll rolled into one package right now.

Like Noll, Tomlin is a teacher. That will be his mark. Since he's following Cowher, who tended to be conservative overall, he'll also be known as the guy who took the shackles off of the offense (and maybe off of LeBeau as well).

I believe Chuck Noll still plays a big part in all Pittsburgh Steelers matters.. Go to steelers.com and look who is listed as top executives of the Steelers org. Chuck Noll forth name on the list after all the Rooney's.. Tomlin in just like Noll, except Tomlin is the up-to-date version....lol

Due to health problems, Noll's position with the team now is more symbolic than anything else - he spends most of his time nowadays at his home down in Florida, from what I understand. He also doesn't travel hardly at all anymore due to a debilitating back problem.

A shame, too...I think the fans would love the opportunity to show appreciation in person.

Tomlin is a great teacher, and a fundementals guy. "Block better" "tackle Better" "play great" in the end, that wins. He's pretty awesome. I almost look forward to a loss, just to hear him tear apart all the flaws. I mean with a win, the guy points out all the mistakes first. Gives praise where worthy, but is always grounded in what can be done better...that's what this team needs. To stay grounded, focussed and playing for the ultimate goal. Ring # 6.
