Pirates to name Huntington GM
Friday, September 21, 2007
By Paul Meyer, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

CHICAGO -- The Pirates will name Neal Huntington, currently an advance scout with the Cleveland Indians, their new general manager, probably on Tuesday.

"He's going to get the job," an industry source said yesterday.

Huntington, 37, was Cleveland's assistant minor league director -- under current Pirate interim general manager Brian Graham -- in 1997. He became the Indians' minor league director in November, 1998, then was named assistant general manager in November, 2001.

Currently an advance scout, Huntington also is working on planning the Indians' new spring training complex near Phoenix.

Wonder if it's going to make a difference for the Bucs?

Strongly doubt it, but much like with Coonelly, pray for him. He's going to need it.
