living in cleveland, i have always been a big tribe fan. they have been absolutely on fire over the past couple months. i hope we get the kill sunday. watching the steelers whoop the cryhawks and then after the trip back from heinz, watching the indians win the ALDS will make my day a perfect one.

Most definetly good times. Griffey, Edgar, Buhner, Randy Johnson. Only team in MLB that could beat us that year was your Tribe. If I recall correctly, you had Manny, Sexon, Albert Belle, Omar Visquel. That was a fun series. Even better was the one game playoff where we beat the angels and the ALDS vs Yankees.

that mariners team in the mid 90s was my second favorite team to the indians. griffey has always been my favorite baseball player and buhner was just a bad ass dude. those were some scary lineups the indians and mariners had back then. this generation of indians could be just as good though.

That Seattle team gave the Tribe fits!

By the way, I like the Indians chances in Boston. The 2-3-2 format really plays to their strength, since Sabathia and Carmona will be able to at least slow down the Red Sox hitting, and Westbrook will be pitching back at the Jake. Wedge already made it pretty clear that CC and Fausto are pitching games 4-5 in Cleveland. If the Indians bats stay hot, there is a chance they could wrap the series up in game 5 in Cleveland. If it goes back to Boston, the Indians chances drop precipitously.

Correction. Wedge said he's sticking with his 4 man rotaion of:

Sabathia
Carmona
Westbrook
Byrd

Interesting match-up in game 4 if Paul Byrd goes against Tim Wakefield. I don't think either one of them has a pitch faster than the mid-80's.

The other compelling pitching match-up. I expect whomever pitches the best between CC, Fausto and Josh Beckett to win the AL Cy Young. Kind of makes it easy for the voters.

Not a bad start. 1-1 after 1. Tribe needs to settle down and play their game.

Or not. There goes the Cy Young for CC and Fausto. It's okay if they win the pennant, though.

Theo, Theo, Theo

After much courting and a large paycheck.. Dice-K gives up 4 earned in 4.2

I don't know what would be more frustrating. A GM who isn't willing to spend or one who pays a boatload for players who are just going to choke in the end...

I'm hoping for a Tribe/Rockies WS

Looks like the winner of this series (and if the Indians win tonight it will be us) will be facing the Colorado Rockies in the World Series!

I heard the Tribe are having Josh Beckett's ex-girlfriend (Danielle Peck) sing the National Anthem before tonight's game. A little psychological warfare is always good.

I thought it was some Country dude?

Supposedly there are rumors circulating that Beckett's back is messed up, so I guess the Sox have their excuse already lined up if they lose, and if he pitches well, it's a rallying cry, like the ketchup on Curt Schillings sock in game 6 of the ALCS against the Yankee's.

after that, its back to pulling for the NL and the "local" team for me (although denver is 9 hrs away- i was pulling for the diamondbacks.)

seeing manny on the other bench say its ok his team loses, has got to be refreshing. cleveland needs to oblige him. hes a yankee at heart, anyways.

He had the ultimate "Manny moment" when he hit a solo shot which meant almost nothing, cutting the lead to 4 in the waning innings, and he stopped at home plate and pretty much praised himself by raising his arms to the sky.

Reminded all us Tribe fans why it wasn't so bad seeing him go.

The Indians stud pitchers sucked in this series. Westbrook and Byrd were the true studs. Westbrook gets the ball tomorrow night, and we'll see what happens. 2 observations, though. A 7 game series with the last major market team helps Fox a lot, especially if the Sox don't go to the series. NO ONE will be watching Colorado vs. Cleveland. And I bet this layoff hurts the Rockies. These guy have played baseball 6-7 days a week forever, and now, in the middle of a massive winning streak, they have an 8 day layoff? The winner of the Sox/Tribe match-up wins the WS in 5.

TroysBadDawg
10-20-2007, 11:23 PM
The Tribe has to finish the Sox first. They have to get with the program, or get tickets to the WS, simple as that. It is going to be hard to beat the Sox at home.

I would love to see it happen, but fearful all the same. I remember this is Cleveland.

They looked good last night, we will see how Schilling does. I think the Rockies can get to him.

revefsreleets

If they do, the BoSox bats will just come alive. I figure the Rockies win this one on emotion, and then it's over.
