I predict a sea of black and yellow towel waving Pittsburgh fans being the only ones in the stadium halfway through the third quarter.

Lots of gloom and doom over there. The last thing they want to see is the Steelers coming to town. :sofunny:

Like I said in another thread, look for Willie to have a HUGE day against the Broncos. Their once-great run D is a shadow of its former self.

I'm very glad this isn't a playoff game. This means we'll only have to hear/see 4,567 things about the elevation and the effect on the Steelers, as opposed to the 367,894 we would if this was a playoff game.

Still, I hate playing a decent team in their house they suffer a humiliating loss. Since it's their bye week, too, the only advantage it gives us is getting back all our injured players.

not to sound like a homer but I dont think the broncos have a chance against us.

Same here - only one thing, though; the Broncos aren't even "decent" this year. They're two game-saving FGs (against the Raiders and Buffalo) by Elam away from being 0-5 as opposed to 2-3. And chances are Travis Henry will be on suspension for a year by the time we play them. Put it all together and we win going away, provided we don't lay an egg like we did in Arizona. The Broncos are every bit as bad this year as the 41-3 stomping at home at the hands of the Chargers indicates.

Hopefully we learned a lesson from that AZ game and stay focused on them as well as getting the rest of our players healthy.

Dude, even Arizona is light years better than the Broncos this year. Yes, they're truly that bad.

That's my main concern. I was overly confident with the Arizona game and we ended up laying an egg. Then again, as long as the players stay level headed I see no reason why they can't completely dominate the Broncos. I think they learned a lesson after the Cards game. But, any given Sunday.

Good points all. After we're officially 5-1, I'll feel better about this.

But did they learn a lesson from Oakland last year?

Agreed. In no way can we play poorly or be off guard, Denver will come to play and as long as we are sharp and win should be in sight!

Go Steelers! :tt02:

Arizona is a better team than people give credit for. They're 3-2 and in first place in the NFC West. Plus there were so many signs pointing to "trap game loss".

BTW, Denver doesn't have our old coaching staff.

If the Steelers don't turn the ball over and execute, they win. I hope the Arizona game has taught a lesson to Arians. When teams are gearing up to stop the run, especially in a road game, you slaughter them through the air. Granted, Denver's Run D has regressed rapidly in the Chargers game, but you never know.

I think we did. Tomlin had them practicing in full pads today so I don't think he plans on dropping this game after what happened in the desert.

I'm sure Ratface will have the Broncs ready to play, but I just don't see them being able to establish ball control or stop Ben & Co. through the air, especially if Hines and Santo are healthy.

Well waddya know? Ben is bringing the pre-game snack for Shanahan.

Can someone remind Shanahan that WHEN he throws the red challenge flag...(and he will)...to NOT throw it like a little girl. I dont want to have to listen to him whine for a week about how he challenged the call and the refs ignored him.

I found this somewhere, and thought it was funny.

Shanahan: Evil Genius
The Chargers looked like a real life NFL football team on Sunday, as the team rushed for more than 200 yards in a win over the Broncos. Everybody on the Chargers roster seemingly had a rushing touchdown. So this was obviously a bad day for Mike Shanahan.

Or was it?

Even A.J. Smith would have had to relent and admit that Norv Turner blew if the Chargers couldn't muster anything against the pitiful Broncos run defense. So Shanahan probably played it coy, and allowed the Chargers to rush at will against his team, ensuring that Turner was going to be retained to be the coach of the Chargers. Sometimes you can win through losing, and the AFC West will win as long as Turner continues to put up these small, meaningless victories that will keep him employed.

Turner is on pace for that magical 7-9 mark that should win the AFC West and put the Chargers in the playoffs as the first sub .500 team to ever do so. And even the Chargers can fire a coach who took the team to the playoffs for the second consecutive year.

Don't look now, the media will start to fawn over the Chargers again and have you believe the ship has been righted.

Which was probably Shanahan's plan all along.

Does it really matter anymore? At this point it seams the Broncos would get pushed around by a team comprised of bobble-head dolls

if they are afraid of bobble heads then just wait for the black and gold to come to town

They are not winning over many fans for this game I know they are not playing well right now but you have to have faith in your team seems like the broncos don't have that.
