Had not read that Champ Bailey injured his leg in the Chargers game and had limited practice this week

Cornerback Champ Bailey wants to play Sunday night, believes he will play Sunday night, but won't know for sure until he tests his strained left thigh muscle before the game.

"I feel like I've got 2 1/2 days to get myself ready and that's enough time," Bailey said after Friday's practice.

Bailey was held out of practices through the week before taking the field on a limited basis Friday. Bailey went through individual drills and took part in "a couple" of defensive periods.

"(I) didn't want to push it too much," Bailey said. "One thing about muscle strains, (you) can set yourself back and I don't want to do it. . . . They can linger and linger."

Bailey suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Broncos' 41-3 loss to the Chargers before the bye week.

The veteran has missed only two games in his career - both with the Broncos in 2005, when he was out because of a left hamstring injury that had bothered him during training camp that year as well.

I look for a maximum effort from Denver tomorrow night regardless of who plays as their season is on the brink

Bailey had two picks in the game last year, if he plays, he'll be as dangerous as usual. I hope they treat him that way and don't think that they can take advantage of his injury.

Come on Champ, you gotta play. Ben needs to be tested against a really good CB

I want him to play. He's the best cornerback in the league.

If he doesn't then I'll have to hear how we beat a bad Denver team that was even worse without Champ Bailey.

I see where you all are coming from but I'm not disappointed one bit the Champ is out. I know that the victory seems sweeter when the opposition is at 100% but I will take any slight advantage we get.

I had a sinking feeling when I found out at gametime that Troy,Hampton, and Holmes weren't playing. That turned out alright. Broncos are backed into the proverbial corner this week. They're going to be tough whether he plays or not.

I want Champ to play. I don't want any excuses for the media/fans to play on "Ben the Game Manager" when he torches the Donkeys.

With or without Bailey, main thing IMO is for Tomlin to have these guys prepared, focused & fired up. I Just don't want to see something like what happened with Oakland last year. With Tomlin in charge, I don't think it will.
