I new as soon as I got to the boards that I would see tones of negative post. (I was hoping I wouldn't but I did) The reason I make that statement is I believe the Steelers played one of their best games yet.

They went into Denver and played a team that we all know was better than their record. A team that felt this was a make or break for their season and also their pride was at stake. The Steelers came out flat with hardly any emotion and were down most of the game by two touchdowns. Not only that but Ben played one of his worst games of the season. The defense was also kinda non-inspiring.

So you may say why would I make the statement of "Good Game Steelers" the reason is after all the things stated above they still stopped them when they needed to and drove down the field and scored to tie the game. Oh and by the way Ben was 8 for 8 on the last drive with the TD to Miller. He was also 6 for 6 in the redzone with 4 TD's. The defense played good on the last drive until that last throw (which i thought was a fumble). One pass deflection and it was overtime.

We still need to shore up the pass defense or just blitz all out Cutler had to much time. But all-in-all I think the team showed that they are starting to gel even more. The offensive line played better in the second half. and for Ben to play that good after 3 turnovers in the first half I thought it was impressive.

Again I state.........Good Game Steelers!!!

Oh yeah one more thing, Thank you Buffalo Bills. Ravens 4-3 Steelers 4-2

No, we can actually put it in the endzone.

I wouldn't necessarily say this was a good game - clearly it was not. Everyone played like crap in the first half, and the D played like crap in the second half. But I was still impressed with the way the team continued to fight and didn't give up, and still gave themselves a chance to win the game at the end if only the D would have stepped up.

Impressed with the "never say die" attitude...disappointed in the overall effort.

Oh well, bring on the Bungles and hopefully the Steelers can drive the final nail in the coffin of their season...again! :tt02:

Yeah - you're coming back. Coming back to get your A$$ kicked!:tt02:

At least we played a team with some degree of talent.

No - we didnt play a good game and it pains me to say that considering how well the team played before the bye. Sh it happens. Time to gear up for the Bungles and put this one behind us.

LOL, I'm sorry, this was not a good game. But if we want to wear the B&G sunglasses, go for it. I'm not even going to bother.

On that note, time to move on and bring on the Bengals.

uhh.. first **** u rayfag.

second.. sorry, but this loss was just bad. we werent supposed to lose to the broncos without their all pro corner, best wr, and long time center. it was a piss poor performance. i took the loss in arizona as an obvious trap game and one where i knew we had a chance of going down.

you can look at it positive in that ben played well late... but that gets negated by the play of our defense which was supposed to be the best in the league. i dont know what to think.

i was afraid we would run in to a buzzsaw tonight. the secondary gave me scray flashbacks of problems we have had in the past but i really liked, overall, the resilience this team showed. we are not on the level of the patriots yet obviously, but there is plenty of time to do so. seen some great things with ben tonight that gives me this hope. i am satisfied about as much as you could expect after a loss.

I know, you lost to the Cardinals. Ill admit our offense is horrible, but our D still dominates Ben every time. How many sacks did he have last time?

the ravens were a 13-3 team last year.. they arent even close to that caliber this year.

Your vaunted defense gave up 23 points to the Cardinals, 27 points to the Browns and 19 to a pathetic Bills offense playing with their backup QB. Your team barely squeaked the Trent Dilfer-led 49ers and were a Justin McCareins dropped pass away from going to OT with the Jets with THEIR backup QB in the game at the time.

So again, you have absolutely NO room to talk smack.

Did anyone really believe we were on the level of the Pats. I hope not. Please don't forget we are coming off of an 8-8 season and have a rookie coach. The Pats coach is a proven vet " with superbowl rings" Tomlin is a rookie. Today was Tomlin first test a a head coach. The first real coaching decisions that he has had to make all year.

The Steelers were usually up and he could cruise. This game he had big calls to make and I thought he did well. Just as earlier in the year when he was running Willie on the goal line and now puts Davenport back their he will grow from todays game also. He is still getting his feet wet. As a matter of fact he still has his hardest games coming up Ravens and Bengals.

And your Defense dominated a rookie QB in Anderson right. Correct me if I am wrong. It was his what 5 start??? Oh well, Our defense sucks, and we still beat you. Stop with the rah rah already.

OMG. Denver is awful. They had a patchwork oline, a bad defense to begin with made worse by the fact that they were missing some of their best players, and they were a couple lucky plays away from being 0-5 going into this game. Yes they were at home and had their backs to the wall, but this also the same Denver team that was CRUSHED at home against a very average San Diego team. We have lost to two bad teams on the road in a row. There was very little positive to take out of this game, and it's important to put Denvers talent level in proper perspective. They are a bad football team and we lost to them yesterday.

In the First half in the football we pass to many time - we did not let the rush get establish we wait to do that in the second half - and turn over will kill a team - i'm a little worry about Cincinnati on Sunday because Ben can not keep Throw all the time - that my thought on the game

Are you asking how many sacks Ben had?....You do know that he is a QB...right.

OHHHHH you're a Ravens fan..Let me start from the basics....

You see, Each team has an offense and a defense. the offense are those players on the field when WE have the ball....The defense is on the field when the OTHER team has the ball.

When that defense tackles a QB behind the line of scrimmage AND he has the ball..its called a sack.

Now, since one of the players on the offense is the QB....it means he is on the team when WE have the ball. He can GET sacked...but not Have a sack...because that would involve the other teams QB being on the field at the same time.

Please feel free to pass this information on to Pastor Lewis
thank you.

All true for the most part but the key factor was motivation. Denver just wanted it more and by the time the Steelers matched it......too late.

[they still stopped them when they needed

Sorry no disrespect. They needed a stop in the last minute, They needed to stop them on the countless 3rd and 14's. With absolutely no ability to make any of these STOPS we are in huge trouble. Have you seen these Elite teams in which we just proved were not. We don't have a prayer against these guys if we are only a fraction as bad as we were last night. Sorry but that sentence needs to be edited from your thread as soon as possible. Oh yeah Great running attack too??? These Elite teams don't stand for mediocrady. We shouldn't either. I paid over a thousand dollars too see them this year on dec. 16th sure hope I haven't wasted my money.

The things is, the Ratbirds don't have an offense. He wouldn't understand. There defense runs around like a Raven with their head cut off.

Actually... Ben really impressed me tonight.

I agree. For all that went wrong for him in the first half, Ben was practically flawless in the second half (many writers called his second-half performance "superb" and I agree). That's what the media folks mean when they say that a quarterback put the team on his shoulders. And if ever there was solid evidence that Ben is more than a "game manager," it was in full display last night. That right there is a franchise quarterback, albeit one who is still learning and is going to make mistakes.

I'm still scratching my head at the gameplan....and apparently the O-line and defense were as well, since there was precious little evidence of the team that won four of their first five games. All the rest of our opponents now have two games worth of film that show exactly how to beat us, and if major adjustments aren't made in our pass defense, I have a feeling it's gonna be a rollercoaster season.

The main thing I learned from last night's game: we are not in the Indy/New England class -- not saying we won't be as the season progresses (assuming the needed O-line and defensive improvements happen), just that we aren't right now.

Motivation? Why wouldn't the Steelers be motivated to win this game? It was a national platform game against a bad team. They had two weeks to get ready, and I'm sure they are just as inundated with all the Pats garbage as the rest of us are. They should have won that game by 3 TD's.
