granted he just came in and did what he is supposed to do, but he is really becoming an excellent kicker and the team trusts him. the crowd roaring when that kick went through was great. 12th man in full effect! oh thats right...this was a road game

I think the best thing about Jeff Reed is when it comes down to kicks like that you have all the confidence in the world in him. You don't doubt his abilities.

The thing I love about Jeff Reed is that he's damn near automatic on the road and in Heinz Field. We went through two kickers at Heinz Field before we could find one that kicks there.

As long as he keeps this up...I'll take him over any other kicker in the league.

Reminds me of Gary Automatic Anderson.

Jeff Reed is sooooooo important to our team. With that being said, as I stated in another thread, PLEASE kick the ball deeper on kickoffs!!!! I hate it when opposing teams catch the ball on the 10 to 15 yard line on the KICKOFF!!

He has been perfect when the time counts, so he gets my respect!!

I agree, Prosdo. I never have any worries about Reed. It's pretty much a done deal when he takes the field.

Good point... Jeff Reed has been playing great for a couple seasons now and he is becoming a "clutch" kicker. He is a game winning kick in a post-season game away from becoming recognized as one of the best kickers in the NFL.

BUT!!! Why can't he kick it into the end-zone on kickoffs? :banging: He is like the only kicker in the NFL who doesn't, and it hurt us at the end of the Patriot game.

I wonder if Cowher has him kick them high to allow coverage to get down there... after one game I read where he was praising Reed because three of the opponents drives started inside the 20 yard line. I thought it was odd because I just figured you boot it deep and let them take it at the 20.

He really is awesome. I was sitting diagonal from that goal post when it went in. Damn was it sweet. Not a worry in the world. And then the chanting began as we crushed their hearts. Good luck diego.....ya right.

Gotta give some more love to Jeff Reed.

There wasn't a doubt in my mind that he was gonna make that kick, and then right down the middle. It was perfect...

He's sporadic with kickoffs, I can live with that. It's not a coaching call, kickers have to really hit the ball in its sweet spot to get the distance to get a touch back.

He has never missed a kick when the game has been on the line, going 5 for 5 in those situations.
