Ugh. Bob Sanders could have EASILY jumped that pass to Welker for a Pick 6...

Missed opportunities all day for the Colts. if the Pats pull this one out I'm sure it will be because Brady/Belicheat are tenacious and intelligent.

It will have nothing to do with dropped/missed INTS, taking field goals in the Red Zone, dropped long ball by Wayne, etc. :jerkit:

Heck of a game. Lived up to it's billing. Does this victory mean anything....yes...probably home field advantage. I still think they are the best two teams in football right now. What this game showed though is that a beaten up Indy team should have won this game....and that NE is stoppable and beatable against a physical team that is not scared of them.

It's a long season. I hope the Steelers continue to take it one game at a time and "bring it" every single game from this point forward.

The next two games will say a lot about our season and where we stand in our division. That is what we need to be concerned about now.

Win the next 2, have the Ravens beat the Browns, and it will be fine - split the next 2 and start worrying about potential wildcard issues - the Browns have the look of the annual 4th place team in the division from the previous season that gets hot with a soft schedule

Yeah, that was a brilliant call on the Browns' 15-yard line for a draw with about :20 on the clock and no timeouts. And like I said earlier, stick a fork in SA's career, because it's over. He can't run anymore.

Yes, the Colts did expose some weaknesses in the Cheats today, but I just don't think we have the horses to be able to beat them on the road. If the game was played at Heinz I'd be more confident.

As Dungy showed, the key is to generate pressure without blitzing and dropping everyone else into coverage, combined with clock killing drives - there has not been much pressure with the Steelers trying that Cover 2 strategy the last 2 weeks and I do not know if the Steelers OL can handle its part of the bargain anymore.

And when all else failed Brady simply threw the ball to Moss in the 4th quarter. There are few DBs who can cover Moss when he feels like playing (his one handed catch in the third quarter was astonishing) and none of them play for the Steelers.

Maybe at this point the realistic goal is to get the #3 seed, play the Colts, and let San Diego (or the Chiefs?) be the initial playoff sacrifice to the Pats.

Way to motivate us coach?! That throw to Moss in the 4th quarter shouldnt have ever been thrown. Moss should have been double teamed. N.E. is down 10 pts with 9 minutes left. HOW DO YOU THINK THEY PLAN ON COMING BACK?! Running it!? Throwing 5 yard dinks to Welker?! Dumb coaching on the Colts part.

Ike Taylor can cover Moss man as long as its with Cover 2.

This game should be on EVERY SINGLE channel on our television screens.

I was at Bettis' place, and THEY had almost EVERY TV TUNED TO THE PATS/COLTS GAME!!!

I couldn't believe it. They had six TV's in the area I was, 4 was on the Pats game, one on the Oakland game, one on the cleveland game.

Sorry i did not know my role was to whip up enthusiasm for the other posters:sofunny:

There have been numerous balls to Moss that arguably should not have been thrown this season but were thrown and were caught - his catch in Miami several weeks ago was even better than his third quarter catch today.

Also sorry i do not share your enthusiasm for Ike Taylor's ability to cover Moss -that is no rap on Ike but simply a recognition of how skilled Moss is (and how much of his career he has wasted) when he is motivated. Expecting Ike to stay glued to Moss if the Steelers play cover 2 with the lack of pressure on the QB they have displayed the last 2 weeks is a nice aspiration but not based on any version of the pass coverage I have seen since the bye - these aren't Hasselbeck & the Seahawks receivers we are talking about here.

It is all well and good to say Moss should have been double teamed, but I assume Dungy thought of that possibility and recognized if you do that Welker and Stallworth will beat you. I do not agree Dungy was smart most of the game and became dumb in the last 10 minutes.

It shows to me two things - 1) Pittsburgh fans are knowledgeable football fans and most wanted to see one of the best regular season match-ups in years (as I assume was the case with most of us who had DirecTV and could watch either 4 pm game); and 2) the Browns are not yet recognized by most fans as the greatest threat to the Steelers prospects for winning the division - most fans presumably have not looked at how soft the Browns remaining schedule is outside of the trips to Pittsburgh & Baltimore and most Steelers fans presumably have not spent any significant length of time watching Cleveland since the Steelers waxed them on opening day.

Moss can be contained with the front 4 get pressure like Indy did with their line. So far this season, our front 3 or even when we bring 6 is not getting to the QB. If we cannot generate any kind of pressure on Brady and we are bringing 6 on the pass rush, he will eat our secondary alive.

Like it or not folks, we are not getting pressure with only sending 4 or 5 right now. Our secondary is not good enough to contain Moss, Welker, Stallworth, Watson, and Gaffney with no pass rush.

I dont know, Indy showed how to beat the Pats for 45+ minutes. If the Steelers can play D, ST and O for 60 minutes they might surprise everyone.
