This gives us an idea who we will face in the Playoffs as the season progresses.

They have seeding places and playoff brackets and tiebreaking explanations.

Maybe we could sticky this till the playoffs start?

Does anyone know who will own the tiebreaker between the Steelers and Colts if the Colts lose to the Chargers today?

The Lions would be a scary opponent if they can lock up a home game or 2 for the playoffs.

Not sure at this point but it appears to come down to conference W-L or common opponent W-L records.

It goes head-to-head, if tied then conference record, if tied then common opponent record, if tied then I think it goes to a coinflip.

Well if the Colts lose to the Chargers we will have the #2 seed (for now at least)

vs ----------- AFC
Steelers -- 5-1
Colts ------ 4-2*

*if the colts lose

Here's the tie breaking rules:

Two Clubs

1. Head-to-head, if applicable.

2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.

4. Strength of victory.

5. Strength of schedule.

6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.

7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.

8. Best net points in conference games.

9. Best net points in all games.

10. Best net touchdowns in all games.

11. Coin toss.

What scares me is that Buffalo is close in the hunt right now for the playoffs. (again, right now)

Why be scared of Buffalo?? They're my second favorite team this week. I'm counting on them to put a little "hot sause" on the cheaters next Sunday.

Another positive development for the Steelers: Giants lost to Dallas. NYG will most likely have to make the playoffs as a wildcard. Their season finale match against the Cheatriots will probably be a must-win for them. So they should have all the more incentive to beat NE (rather than sit starters).

the giants are just a scary team... their DE are crazy good and their recievers are some of the best

Maybe their recievers are some of the best, but their QB only gets them the ball 50% of the time. The cowboys have their number, they're not getting to the SB---which is the first place we'd see them.

Personally Jacksonville is the "cusp" team that always scares me.

if the lions get it together and balance out their offense they could be a scary team in the playoffs. the pack/lions game will be a great game next thursday....

i wouldnt worry about the giants b/c if you get eli to get into his all shucks look... they lose... and that isnt hard to do.

Yes, a great D that can shut you down when they are playing their game.

The only team in the NFC that would worry me in super bowl is Dallas and thier pass happy theory. But if we were to get past the Patriots and Colts then I dont much problem with the Cowboys...
Thanks for the insight on the CBS standings... its good information to know...

the chances that the steelers beat new england is about 20% to 45% but the chances cleveland loses to ny jets is like 10% to 15%

The Steelers actually clinch the division with a win OR cleveland loss because the best cleveland could finish would be 10-6 and Pittsburgh could still go 13-3 and the closest they could get to the Steelers is 11-5..

Cleveland is not as good as their record. The Jets may very well beat them.
