Some playoff implications on the line that should concern the Steelers. Colts lose, Steelers tied for #2 Seed in the AFC.

The Chargers have been on and off this season, and Rivers is struggling. LT will have a rough time running on that improved Colts Run D.

And as I say this, Rivers tries his best Big Ben impression and fails. #7 he's not.

If All-Pro QBs make it out of their first 5 years they usually last forever (Favre, Marino, Elway); it is not as if Peyton is going to lose his scrambling ability

Colts also might have a chance at not winning their division, Jags and Titans will only be one game back if the Colts lost today.

I know its not importent to us but if anyone is interested here are their remaining schedules:

Jags:
Nov 18 San Diego 1:00pm
Nov 25 Buffalo 1:00pm
Dec 2 @Indianapolis 1:00pm
Dec 9 Carolina 1:00pm
Dec 16 @Pittsburgh 1:00pm
Dec 23 Oakland 1:00pm
Dec 30 @Houston 1:00pm

Titans:
Nov 19 @Denver 8:30pm
Nov 25 @Cincinnati 1:00pm
Dec 2 Houston 1:00pm
Dec 9 San Diego 1:00pm
Dec 16 @Kansas City 1:00pm
Dec 23 N.Y. Jets 4:15pm
Dec 30 @Indianapolis 1:00pm

if either one of them can pull out a win against the Colts, Manning and Co might be at risk for the playoffs

Well that is true for the Steelers and Colts QB situation as well. Colts are certainly playing as if this game will not impact where they may be playing in January.

With Marvin Harrison being hobbled even when he returns, it may be the Colts can be defended a lot tighter. How that will help the Steelers on covering kicks escapes me for now.

Agreed - I just hate the Pats so much that it sometimes gets in the way of my better judgment. They have a cupcake schedule from here on out with the exception being Dec. 9. Home field is theirs to lose at this point, but I'm keeping the faith that they drop one they should win (possible bye week rust in Buffalo next week, maybe?) and lose to us as well. :hope:

The San Diego Chargers should second-guess that Norv Turner hiring.

And as I say this, Rivers throws another pick. He stinks. Big Ben he isn't. While Rivers had the luxurious comfort of learning from the sidelines for 2 seasons.

After that sorry performance last night, the official party line among those who live for a Colts-Pats rematch in January is that the Colts have to feel great about almost pulling it out last night with all the injuries, since we know only the Colts lose starters to injuries by mid-November.

Did anyone else catch Chris Mortensen on SportsCenter this evening babbling on about how unnamed "players around the league" were saying how "heroic" Peyton was in throwing 6 INTs last night and that it was a "textbook for young quarterbacks" to see how to play through adversity?:dang:

Steve Young openly was mocking Mortensen for using the words "heroic" about Peyton's 6 INTs - Mortensen was clearly getting ticked off for Young calling him out on this egregious Peyton love and they had to cut it back to studio:sofunny:

Today's props to the Steelers will be short lived if it appears they actually might beat the Colts or Pats - Kornheiser is hanging tough and still claiming only indy is comparable to the Pats.

I caught part of SportsCenter tonight, and although I missed Mort's babbling (Peyton heroic???? Uh, sorry, Peyton was bad. He single-handedly lost that game for his team), I did hear Steve Young say that absolutely NO ONE but Indy has a hope of challenging New England come January. His reason? Because "no one else can score enough points" to stay in the game with NE. WTF? Somehow the Steelers are having problems scoring enough points to win this season??? Did I miss something?

If we happen to beat NE on December 9th, I just can't wait to hear everyone sputtering over themselves to justify or explain away the loss. That is, if they can get any words out between bites of humble pie.

After nine games, the total points scored for:

The Steelers: 253
The Colts: 265

So the Colts averaging a measly 1.3 ppg more than us makes them better-suited to beat NE? Don't think so.

But still... Philip Rivers is garbage and Norv Turner is a garbage head coach. Way to blow a lead like that.

I've been thinking that about Rivers for a while. I still think he's one of the big reasons why Marty lost his job. Oh well, at least we're the 2nd seed now! :tt03:

After nine games, the total points scored for:

The Steelers: 253
The Colts: 265

So the Colts averaging a measly 1.3 ppg more than us makes them better-suited to beat NE? Don't think so.

Look at the points allowed too

NFL Rank --Team ----------PA

#1 - Pittsburgh Steelers - 126
#3 - Indianapolis Colts -- 149

We have a advantage there

We out scored our opponents by 127, the colts out scored theirs by 116
