Is it just me or does it seem that overall that the 2005 draft class isnt really panning out as a whole. Obviously there are some guys who did pan out Demarcus Ware, Braylon Edwards and Shawne Merriman but as a whole it seems like that most of arent pannig out . I would think 3 years of NFL experience these players should have gotten there rookie gitters out of their system and be accustomed to the NFL.

To me overall this is one of the worst first rounds in recent years

Seems more like an up and down class to me, some just aren't good and some still haven't reached their potential or used the right way

some have excuses though-

Aaron Rodgers- Favre will never leave Green Bay :toofunny:
Troy Williamson- no legitimate QB
Mark Clayton- do the ravens have a QB? :flap:
Ronnie Brown and Cadilac Williams- injuries stopped them this season
Matt Jones- very talented, injuries keep him down

?
David Pollack- a defensive player on the bungles....:sofunny:
Alex Barron- rams o line....
Cedric Benson- don't know much about him, but doesn't seem too good at all

"special kids"
Mike Williams- Bust
Alex Smith- there's already talks that he may be a bust
Pacman Jones- will he ever be back in the NFL? :toofunny:

Bright Spots
Logan Mankins- Pretty boy brady never gets touched, Mankins helps in that process
Shawne Merriman- roids help him, but he's pretty darn good
Heath Miller-finally being used a lot, and even before that he was good
DeMarcus Ware- he's very good
Braylon Edwards- already becoming one of the best receivers in the league
Jammal Brown- already a pro bowler
Luis Castillo- can get through any o line
Marlin Jackson- perfect fit for Dungy's cover 2

Cedric Benson- don't know much about him, but doesn't seem too good at all

3.0 per carry....60.2 yards per game...and 3 touchdowns this year....all as a STARTER.....

......He did better splitting carries with Anthony Thomas last year but SUCKS as a starter.

1 Alex Smith QB San Francisco 49ers: He's got talent, but I don't think he has a clue how to read a defense.

2 Ronnie Brown RB Miami Dolphins: O-line is rather crappy, plus he got hurt. before the inujury, he wa son his way to a career year.

3 Braylon Edwards WR Cleveland Browns: Finally got his head out of his ass and is now one of the better recievers in the league. It helps that Charlie Frye is no longer Cleveland's QB.

4 Cedric Benson RB Chicago Bears: Doesn't hit the hole with any conviction.

5 Cadillac Williams RB Tampa Bay Buccaneers: He's been pretty good, not spetacular, but pretty good. Injury this year really blows.

6 Pacman Jones CB Tennessee Titans: Has his head way to far up his ass. If he cleans up his act, he's one of the better cornerbacks and returners in the league. But I don't know if he can clean up.

7 Troy Williamson WR Minnesota Vikings: Would help if he had a QB throwing to him, something he hasn't had his entire career.

8 Antrel Rolle DB Arizona Cardinals: I don't get to see much of the Cardinals, so I don't really know how he's doing.

9 Carlos Rogers DB Washington Redskins: He's starting on one of the better defenses in the NFC, so he can't be that bad.

10 Mike Williams WR Detroit Lions: BUST!

11 DeMarcus Ware OLB Dallas Cowboys: Best pass rusher in the NFC.

12 Shawne Merriman OLB San Diego Chargers: Steroid test clouds some people's thoughts, but he is a beast.

13 Jammal Brown T New Orleans Saints: I don't know anything about him. O-linemen get no respect.

14 Thomas Davis DB Carolina Panthers: DB moved to LB. Has 50 tackles so far this year and one sack. Not too shabby.

15 Derrick Johnson OLB Kansas City Chiefs: A big part of why the Cheifs defense has improved.

16 Travis Johnson DT Houston Texans: 22 tackles isn't bad for a DT.

17 David Pollack LB Cincinnati Bengals: Had a bright future, but his neck injury has probally ended his career, and that's sad.

18 Erasmus James DE Minnesota Vikings: Third string in Minnesota, looks like he hasn't made the impact they thought he would.

19 Alex Barron T St. Louis Rams: Rams line is bad. He's playing LT due to o-line injuries.

20 Marcus Spears DE Dallas Cowboys: Doesn't get the hype that Ware does, but is a key cogg in the Dallas defense.

21 Matt Jones WR Jacksonville Jaguars: Injuries and QB inconsistancy makes him tough to judge.

22 Mark Clayton WR Baltimore Ravens: Has talent, but hasn't had a good QB throwing to him.

23 Fabian Washington CB Oakland Raiders: Very good corner on a good defense.

24 Aaron Rodgers QB Green Bay Packers: Nobody knows because Favre won't retire.

25 Jason Campbell QB Washington Redskins: Looks like a good QB.

26 Chris Spencer C Seattle Seahawks: Starter on a good o-line, can't be that bad.

27 Roddy White WR Atlanta Falcons: Hard to tell with Michael Vick throwing to him most of his career.

28 Luis Castillo DE San Diego Chargers: Excellent pick, one of the ebst d-linemen in the league.

29 Marlin Jackson DB Indianapolis Colts:perfect fit for Dungy's defense.

30 Heath Miller TE Pittsburgh Steelers: Finally being utilized as a pass catcher, will probally break many Steelers' single-season TE records this year. He's also a very good blocker.

31 Mike Patterson DT Philadelphia Eagles: Good defensive tackle.

32 Logan Mankins G New England Patriots: Very good pick, helping keeping Pretty Boy pretty.

Yeah, I guess some of the really early guys seem to be busts... Some of the later round players are pretty good though... Overall I agree abou it being a bad draft class.

I knew Heath Miller was gonna be a beast in his rookie year. Yes I'm glad they are finally using him to his potential. He's got wide outs hands and the body of a linebacker. Wicked combination.

and this season he's done almost nothing with a good bears o line. I'm not saying he sucks, but he doesn't look like 1st round material at all

2 Ronnie Brown RB Auburn Miami Dolphins - a little hi but looked good when healthy
3 Braylon Edwards WR Michigan Cleveland Browns - proving his worth now
8 Antrel Rolle DB Miami (Fla.) Arizona Cardinals - looks great when awake
11 DeMarcus Ware OLB Troy State Dallas Cowboys - should of been #1 pick
12 Shawne Merriman OLB Maryland San Diego Chargers - should of been #2 pick
22 Mark Clayton WR Oklahoma Baltimore Ravens - who's gonna get him the ball???
24 Aaron Rodgers QB California Green Bay Packers - still out until Farve retires
28 Luis Castillo DE Northwestern San Diego Chargers - great value
30 Heath Miller TE Virginia Pittsburgh Steelers - lucky he was here!!!
Other than this, the first round sucked!!!! :jawdrop:

antrel has proved nothing more than a decent CB that has good tackling ability... he can't catch the ball!

I dont think clayton and rodgers have done anything to prove themselves a good first round pick... rodgers hasn't done anything and u pointed out farve hasn't retired yet... ccan't base a guy's nfl career on college stats AND mark hasn't been able to supplant derrick mason... DERRICK MASON as the teams number 1 reciever...
