Completeley false. The Ravens players at least deserved this game, not the coaching staff, but the Ravens players out played the Patriots tonight going away. Any time a team is 1/9 on third down conversions going into the final minutes they don't deserve to win the game. If every penalty in the game is declinable as it should be, the Ravens win. The Patriots didn't keep on keeping on, the refs kept them alive. The Ravens played like warriors tonight and the Patriots road the flaws of the NFL rulebook to a win, nothing more.

Now I know my way around a field pretty well, and I can yell at the TV with the best of them. I am not, however, well versed in every single detail of football law.

So can somebody enlighten me on WHY IN HELL the Ravens accepted that penalty when they had the Pats stopped after that 4th down?! Did they not have a choice? I nearly fell off my barstool in excitement when they pulled out that stop, and then the Pats lined up again and converted! It was MADDENING!

I can't believe there would be a rule prohibiting a team from choosing the play or the penalty. That could have been the game for the Ravens and it was snatched from right under their nose.

What a frustrating night! I have never cheered so hard for a Raven's defense in my life! They had that game in the palm of their hands SO MANY TIMES!!! I'm still coming off of an adrenaline high. I haven't witnessed a game like that in ages.

completely true. this isnt NASCAR where owner points are tabulated seperately from driver points. the ravens coaching staff blew some calls. ravens players blew some plays (did you really expect kyle freaking boller to defeat "the greatest team ever"?) ed reed choked up 3 free points to end the 1st half.

the pats stopped mcgahee, when they had to and brady drove the field when he had to (in the last 2 minutes as opposed to when he failed with 5 minutes to go).

the ravens lost because they deserved to lose. they were lucky their THA U players found enough mustard to make it a game in honor of a fallen "brother" or their sucky assed team woulda been blown out of the water.

i cant apologize for the ravens players, coach, team, organization , city, or anything. they lost fair and square. the same way they lost the steelers can lose next week.

ben doesnt need to throw interceptions and if the steelers get a turnover they should make sure not to give the gift immediately back.

Please.

It was a well reffed game. There was not ONE call that was controversial. The holding penalty at the end... You CAN NOT reach out and GRAB another player. The fault is not on the refs... it was on the COACHING STAFF.

I also don't like idea that a false start can negate a bad play. I think it should be declinable... I agree. But that isn't the refs fault. That is the leagues call from years ago.

So no, it isn't the refs. The Ravens made a couple mistakes, and lost the game.

I do not buy into conspiracy theories and do not think the refs gave the Pats the game, but get over your paranoia about the league not being thrillled about the Pats quest to go undefeated.

Great teams draw great ratings, as evidenced by the Pats-Bills game being shifted to Sunday night several weeks ago + Steelers-Pats being moved to 4:15 as a national doubleheader game. Great villains are as big if not a bigger draw than heroes.

NFL dream playoff ratings bonanza is Steelers-Colts second round match, Pats-Colts + Green Bay-Dallas conference championships, + Pats-Dallas SB.

If Pats are 18-0 a Dallas-Pats SB will blow the ratings roof off.

i think the nfl's dream super bowl matchup would actually be either cowboys-steelers or packers-steelers.. those are the big 3 in terms of fan base and marketing. im sure the pats ratings would be better than their other 3 super bowls because everyone wants them to lose, but a matchup with 2 of the 3 largest fan bases in the league would be best. not to mention all the hype that could be done for cowboys-steelers with their long super bowl history, 75th anniversary season, their last super bowl was in arizona, romo vs ben.. the list goes on.

The ratbirds gave that one away last night. Plain and simple. You just can't keep giving the ball back to Brady multiple tiimes under 4 minutes like they did.

Questionable calls will always be part of the game. The ratbirds had chances to make plays and they didn't.

The melt down at the end cost them valuable field position. A nice little return, 1 or 2 throws downfield and they are in field goal range.

BINGO! The Refs are people to. It's about time people start figuring refs don't win games, players do. Refs can make calls that change the momentum in the game, but great teams respond to it. That's why teams such as the Steelers are 9-3 and the Patriots are 12-0.

patfans are actually up in arms and pretending to be disgusted because the ESPN crew didnt drip enough spit off the patriot balls in the broadcast of a game they were losing.

the team and fanbase shows the biggest insecurity and napoleon complex i have ever witnessed in sports.

I'm not saying the NFL want anything. It's a win win situation for them. If you guys win this week that means all their viewer will be watching the final game to the end, even if the Pats are blown out. If we win then they just have next week to look forward to. The NFL doesn't gain anything by favoring or not favoring a team nor do the officials.

but to put this back into context, in the next breath brady was true to form, and whined that while the ravens got jobbed in the final quarter, the patriots were jobbed in the 1st 3.

i cant believe the little bitch or the patfans who practically demand that everybody love/respect/admire him the way they do.

Where are you coming from here? We'd love for the media to go away and jump pack on the Colts bandwagon or something. They're the reason team's are so motivated coming into games! Do you think we like Tony saying that; "it's over. The Patriots are going undefeated." or that you can't stop Brady in the 4th quarter. Favoring the Patriots by 24pts or more! When was the last time the team with the best record won the Superbowl? The media destroys good teams.

and now the media is destroying them?

:toofunny: complete BS. all patfans want their cake and eat it too. patfans would bitch even louder if they didnt have the media slobbing their knobs and comparing them to the 72 dolphins.

admit it. we all know its true. quite a whiny fanbase regardless of what happens.

A whiny fan base? What are you talking about, kid? You know, I come here trying to be respectful and talk some smack about the game and all I get is this classless, cheater, bashing garbage. You call yourselves fans but it looks like you want to hate the Pats more than enjoy your own team. I can't even post without some guy pouring on the bullshit. And now you have Cowboys and Colts fans here now simply for the purpose of bashing anything Pats. Forget it. Have a great game.

Quit blaming the refs. This was a combination of Billick being an idiot and a whole lot of luck. Why would the NFL want the Patriots to win when 95% of their viewers wanted them to lose? The NFL looks for upsets and just because the Ravens threw theirs away doesn't mean the Pats are to blame.

Everytime the Patriots play a respectable team...people will tune in to see if they will lose...I watched the Ravens game and stayed up late for that very reason...so yes, the NFL would love to see the Pats win out.
Hated teams can get higher ratings then loved teams...very simply because you now have fans from 31 other teams tuning in.

Please don't ever question Steelers fans' loyalty to their team. We have the largest and most dedicated fan base in the world.

Of course you're going to get joustled around here - you're a Pats fan on a Steelers BB! If fans from other teams want to come here and bash the Pats, that's their privilege, as long as it is done in the BF. Seriously, though - is it our fault that the Pats have been hated by the majority of the NFL fan base long before this season and continue to be hated? You might want to take a look at your pompous owner and arrogant, dishonest coach and a large number of Pats fans who didn't even know who the Pats were before 2001 to figure out why.
