Well, we wanted to see him on a fast turf and that's what we saw last night. Did Max just play himself into a nice big contract?

With Smith's bad back, Starks may be a viable option. Who knows how much longer Smith will last, but by signing Starks, that might fill a hole we might otherwise need to fill by the draft or free agency.

Steelers spent their money to re-sign OL in their contract year this season on Simmons:dang:

IMO Starks is gone

Starks did very good last night and has filled the starting roll fantastically when called upon.

According to some, the Steelers will be 18 Million under the cap next season. I know Ben will eat up a lot of that, but I would hate to let a decent LT walk when we are going to need to just turn around and draft one anyway.

I hope they make smart choices this offseason and Draft well. That's all, I trust the Rooney's will make good decisions and will fix the problem of our current O-line.

Heck, if the Steelers roll on through and win it all, this won't even be a topic, will it?

You might think that since Simmons cost less than what they presumbly offered Faneca they could have some $$ left for Starks but I just doubt it. In addition to the draft they need to get some vet in there to compete for OL next year but the Rooneys appear to have sticker shock for the going OL rate this year.

With the coaching change they were lucky to get their act together to sign Troy.

Well, maybe not at all positions, BUT at the Guard if Faneca goes is where I can expect debate.

Max is more than likely gone....it only takes 1 other NFL team to overpay for him....and IMO that is exactly what will happen

Some owner was dumb enough to sign Randle El to a damn near 30 million dollar contract!!!!!

Well the price of OL lately is a bit outrageous, and for us to keep Ben our 18mil will be gone fast. I certainly hope we can get some help this offseason

Starks wasnt that good against the Rams. He played better than Marvel did last week, but he still had alot of problems protecting Ben last night.

This OLine needs completely revamped. Bye Max.

max isnt the long term solution at LT.. but i think him at LT and smith at RT may be the best bet for now. the only problem is we havent seen both of them on the field at the same time this year. starks has only played LT when smith was out. colon is the worst player on the line. he needs to be replaced more than anybody.

Did Hartings make this much of a difference? Its the same line minus Hartings. I cant even tell you my feeling yesterday when holmes beat his guy right before the half and ben almost broke his ankle because for the 50th time in th game someone came free to sack him.

Starks did a pretty good job last night. It wasn't what I would call a career night but he played well. His work ethic really shows. I hope he sticks with us. I think he was better suited to play LT than RT in the first place.

Starks has played well lately. He was the RT on the Super Bowl team. He can play. If the Steelers can sign him reasonably, they will. And I'd like to keep him.
