We've heard that a bunch of times this season, but so far it hasn't played out in the bowls. Illinois had their spread offense shut down by USC and Hawaii had their spread offense shut down by Georgia.

Looking at the last three games you have WVU with their spread offense as a big underdog to Oklahoma and Kansas with their spread as an underdog to Virginia Tech.

So what does everyone think? Does the spread really level the playing field or does talent still win out over scheme?

Speed on defense and a good QB spy will beat the spread. There's a good reason nobody in the NFL runs June Jones' offense, and that the best 2 QB's in the NFL are immobile pocket passers.
