Using today's standings, it looks like someone is out to bury us.

I hope a few of these teams fall apart by September.

It's a brutal schedule but very attractive for season ticket holders = Peyton, Dallas + LT at Heinz - I would have all 3 of those chalked up as losses on the road

9-7 is being optimistic

At this stage I'm going 12-4 at worst.

How is it that the steelers have to play 8 playoff teams, and the pats only play 4....

That's the breaks of rotating divisions - Pats get NFC & AFC West next year

Hard to gripe after the Steelers got AFC East + NFC West this year

I guess the Steelers get the NFC North * AFC West in 2009 which will balance out next year's meat grinder schedule

Who knows what any '09 team will be like right now?

All I know is we have a brutal schedule, but the rest of our division has to play most of the same games, Cincy is done as a contender and I think the Browns will fall apart, there are even rumors of them trading D. Anderson. and who knows how the Ravens will fair with a new HC but I dont see them getting much better right now. As long as we win the division next year I can see us gaining tons of experience from all of these tough games

Yep - If you win the division you get no worse than the #4 seed regardless of the record - it is like the 2 guys being chased by a bear - you do not need to outrun the bear, you just need to outrun the other guy. 9-7 certainly is in the hunt in the 2008 AFC North.

Why does it seem like we ALWAYS play NE in NE?

You're right! When the Chefs (sic) were quality, we played them every year in Arrowhead.

Or the Raiders in Oakland and LA from 1980 through 2000.

They did us NO favors guys...

We play the entire AFC Playoff Field of 07,
We play the top 3 seeds from the NFC playoffs of 07
We play the New Browns twice and the Eagles on top of that.

Its a veritable gauntlet for the championship. By far #1 in SOS.

All Im saying is that they had BETTER give us the pats week 9 bye this year.
