I hear you...I know we are going to have to pay a boatload on Ben...but this may be the year to cut our losses on dead weight and try and scrape up the money for a couple of free agents.

As I said in another post...If we can get Dansby...Travell Wharton at Tackle...and Justine Gage at WR...(or a combo of any of those two)..I will be doing back flips.

Dansby, Allen, and Haynesworth are all very appealing...unfortunately Haynesworth and Allen both have considerable character questions.

:tt02: Albert Haynesworth and Paul Spicer are the only ones on those list that really intrigue me. Haynesworth would be awesome at DT teaming with Hampton in our new 4-3 look or maybe he could be our DE across from Aaron Smith. Spicer would be a nice fit across from Smith as well.

good god their are some good DL free agents this year.

dream situation, but if we could somehow sign dansby and briggs... man our defense would be FEARSOME!!

seriously. i would be afraid to play the steelers with that defense.

We could shift Harrison inside and end up with this D

Woodley - Farrior - Harrison - Briggs
.........Allen - Hampton - Smith

that would be crazy. too bad we probably don't have the cash for it.
we have 25 m. left on salary cap.
we need a pretty good amount to resign ben, and sign our picks
but if we cut M. Smith, Keisel, Wilson, and mahan, we have an extra 16 million left, giving us over 4 million. if by chance hines restructured, that would give us an extra million or to... so if we wanted to we could sign a ton of FAs.
