Huck and Obama (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/04/iowa.analysis/index.html)

Well I know who I'll be voting for if this holds up. :dang:

I'm not a democrat, but I find it intriguing that Barack Obama won in Iowa, a nearly all white state. alot of people said he had no chance there. I know racism is still a problem in this country, but this kinda shows that we have come a long way and people are willing to give others a chance and not just look at their skin color.

Agreed Borski. It's most assuredly a step in the right direction. I'm glad Snaggletooth lost there.

I'm liking Huckabee more and more from listening to him, but if the election were held today, I'd still vote for Rudy because of his tough stance on terrorism which is my number 1 priority in choosing a candidate. Protecting my family and loved ones always is numero uno.

Huckabee is taking over... MARK IT! MARK IT! :wink02:

I am very happy with those two winning... If it comes down to Huck v.s. Obama I don't think either would be a bad situation.

The Huckster is a bible thumping, rapist sympathizing hypocrite who is hated in his own state for his shitty management style. I hope that Republicans in the country are stupid enough to run this redneck against Obama.

Here's some truth about The Huckster. His aw shucks down home image is nothing but a front for a soulless hypocrite.

If this man gets in to office, this country will become the laughing stock of the world.

When the article starts out... the facts behind the fraud, and you posted it as evidence,
it shows that you are either 1. Btatantly blinded by your bigotry against something that he associates with (I am thinking christianity here), or two, you really don't have a grasp on the difference between unbiased truth and blatant slanting of a story.

And before you go off on me being blinded by Huckabee...

I really am not too enthused with him. He is a old fashioned southern Democrat... but since there is no more room in the democrat party for them, he runs on the GOP ticket.

He is NOT a conservative on probably 50 to 60 percent of the issues I want. Heck, Romney is more conservative then him.

I really didn't see anything in that poorly written article to make the guy "Evil"

Oh no the guy might raise taxes, oh no he supports the war against terror, oh no the guy Believes in Creationism!!! What will we all do?????

Dude who ever wrote that is very bias and didn't make any good points.

99% of political journalism is biased. That is why stories and links there of on candidates are irrelevant. Anyone who pays any serious attention to them doesn't have his own opinion, just one based off of someone else. You have to make your own judgment on those running by what they say, personal vibes and instinct or at the very least - Articles / otherwise written BEFORE that particular person announced his/her candidacy. Unfortunately, a lot of Americans let the media (A nationally democratic media) influence their opinion. After the Dems do something we more or less deem unacceptable in 4 – 8 years, that will probably change. It is well documented that public opinion traditionally has the ‘grass is always greener on the other side’ mentality.

As far as my media comment: Nothing against democrats, I am not affiliated to a single party so I hold no grudge on them. The thing is; you can't please everyone at the same time. As I said, the above paragraph will be applicable to opposite the party that holds office over the next 4 - 8 years by the end of that period. In football terms, we as a nation are fair-weather fans when it comes to our president and government as a whole.

I know alot or articles are bias, but the one I was reffering to was an extreme case.

what I tend to do, if I hear/read an article about something I'll look up different articles on the same issue and that way some of the bias is balanced out by a bias in the other direction....does that make any sense?

Yeah, I am not saying reading them is bad at all. It is just smart to not let one article or rumor effect the way you feel about a person. That is what a lot if not most people do, hear one negative thing about someone that may or may not be true then from there on out, oppose that candidate because of that one blemish. Process of elimination; that is the method which the majority of this country votes by. Besides the few individuals who are able to see the whole picture (Like myself and you I think), once the average voter settles on the guy they want - They will defend him/her to the death no matter what... It has a lot to do with first impression. There are obviously exceptions to every rule... I know a lot of smart people who share these beliefs with me and don't fall victim to them. Let’s just say someone doesn't like Hillary... Most people will put here down no matter what she does, even the good things. I don't like her at all, but I remain open-minded that not everything she has to say or do is bad. I’m not trying to sound superior or condescending here… I just think I hit the nail on the head with my assessment of this countries voting pattern, decision making and reasoning.

God help us if Obama becomes President. I guarantee he'll do everything he can to make our Constitution a relic and push us one step closer to socialism.

His views and mine couldn't be further apart on the major issues.

He'll do what he can to disarm this country. Both it's military and it's people.

Hey - if you want to throw your vote to a guy who leans towards murdering innocent babies, partial birth abortion and voted YES to allow illegal immigrants to tap into OUR Social Security, have at it. I don't want to hear you or anyone else B & M'ing when your hard earned dollars aren't available when you want to retire because it was sucked dry by illegals.

I'll say this about Obama's win, and this is completely neutral, just an interesting observation. He mobilized a voter bloc that was silent before. I think like half the people who voted for him had never voted in a caucus before. He mobilized Democrats in a conservative state, in bad weather, and he even got out the young vote. The guy has become a juggernaut and I'd not be the slightest bit surprise if he actually won the whole kit and kaboodle.

We are 11 full months out. After the backlash I got for Huck bashing, I'm reserving partisan comments for awhile, but even the detractors have to admire what those two guys (especially Obama) accomplished in Iowa.

I believe Obama got a lot of the "anyone but Hillary" vote, revs. I'm not sure, but I think Edwards either tied her or beat her slightly in the overall vote.

The "anyone but Hillary" voters probably did vote for him. But my point was that he mobilized voters who NEVER vote. Every Democrat since JFK has been attempting that, and they've pretty much all failed. If he can ramp this up and continue...well....

Agreed, however I would like to see her BOTH tied & beaten!

Also. I agree w/ PisnNapalm - Obama is a socialist IMO. It's funny how we fought so hard in the cold war based on the principles our country was founded upon and we are now embracing everything we fought against as evil. The sad thing is I thought we had won the cold war, apparently we are still fighting it.....and losing to the enemy within.

Duly noted. On the other side of the fence, I see a "dude" who supports women who want to murder their babies and also wants to give my 25+ years of Social Security contributions to illegals who haven't contributed one freakin' cent to it. I also can't support a candidate who voted NO to declaring English as the official language of the US government and feels flag-burning is A-OK.

I never claimed to know you when it comes to religion. I claim from your repeated offensive comments about "bible thumper (because he is a preacher in a Southern Baptist church)" pointed me to believe that your blinded by bigotry towards him.

I admit, I wasn't as precise as normal. I should have said "born again" or evangelical.

Try holding a conversation once in a while where you don't come across as a "redneck" yourself. I have'nt been around alot, but the posts of yours I've been reading the last few days seems to be putting you in the same company of the recently departed (banned).

Btw, vote for whoever you like, because by the sound of things they won't have a chance anyway.
