The whole column is hilarious, particularly the "priceless pep talks for Peyton Manning," but I wanted to pass along this little excerpt regarding Ben's third place finish as Comeback Player of the Year:

Dallas linebacker Greg Ellis was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year on Saturday. He got 12 votes, Randy Moss placed second with nine and Ben Roethlisberger was third with seven. As you may know, Ellis came back from a torn Achilles, Roethlisberger from the lingering effects of a serious motorcycle accident and an appendectomy and Moss from clubhouse cancer. Congratulations to all.

Thought yinz would get a kick out of it. Here' s the link to the whole column:

Gallo strikes me as just another Brady nuthugger who likes to pile on Manning. Tired and hackneyed. :coffee:

I think that Jamal Lewis should have got some votes myself. And for Moss to even be considered for this just goes to show that the NFL are still kissing up to the Patriots perfect season. Ellis was injured last year and that was a serious injury and I cant argue that one much but to give Moss those votes for just being a Cry Baby in Oakland is rediculous..

Gee - if Moss got some sap votes, where were TO's :crying01:, especially after his boo hoo-fest on Sunday after the Cryboys got beat by the :toofunny::toofunny: - NY Giants. :toofunny:

It's a sham that Ben didn't get CPOY. The guy led the NFL in INTs in 2007, but then comes back and sets the team record for TD passes and QB rating. I'm a little PO-ed he didn't win an award he so richly deserved. Here's hoping Ben will never be in the running for CPOY again.

Here is how I look at it:

Greg Ellis was hurt and was almost not a Cowboy this season. He comes back from a torn achillies to have his best season ever, and to do it at a new position. However, people have come back from that injury, though it is impressive that he did so well at his age.

Rady Moss didn't suffer any major injuries. He just plain quite on himself and the team his entire tenure in Oakland. He gets traded to a team with a pulse and decides to turn it on again. IMHO, he shouldn't have even been on the ballot.

I think we all know what Ben went through last year. Then he comes out and has his best season of his career. He deserved it more than anyone else.

Actually Gallo piles on everybody, including Brady. In fact, I'd say that Brady is his #2 target after Ray Lewis. He actually has a running feature on his website about Lewis who he really can't stand. Incidentally Gallo's originally from Pittsburgh.

You should go to a Seahawks board. Their royally pissed that Engram didn't get it. I said something about I think Ben should have got it, but in a nice way that complimented Engram, and they got all heated.

Don't know why Moss was even considered. All these awards are jokes this year.

No question Ben had a greqt year and, with pretty much running for his life as well. Sure a few others had great comebacks as did Ben but, if you look at where Ben was last year and this year he was one of the best qb's in the leauge let's give to Ben.
