Anybody out there watching? I will even if i have to turn the sound off in the second half to eliminate the slurping sounds. "the chin" just picked San Diego.

for the first time in years, I'm more looking forward to the NFC game.

Three and out is not the way to start the game San Diego.

chrismartin99
01-20-2008, 03:11 PM
Rivers will be a mess, he shouldn't even start. Well, here we go, I give less than 2 minutes until we see a TD from the cheaters...

Let's face it, unless SD puts up 30+ on the board, they have no chance of winning. New York put up more than that, still lost. Philly couldn't quite do it- they lost. As much as I hate the Pats, I hate Phillip Rivers' attitude even more.

Too little too late unfortunately. I can't believe these stupid Patriots*. Now we have to hear for the next two weeks all of the Super Bowl hype that they're the team destined to be perfect yada yada yada. They will go down to the Pack. Mark my word.

My favorite moment of Pats love today

Seymour shoves Rivers in front of the ref

No flag (of course) but then Simms pipes up that it is OK because we do not know what Rivers said to Seymour

Second favorite moment - after Brady throws the red zone INT, on the next drive an excited Nantz asks "will Brady start a new red zone TD without an interception streak here?"

Thank God CBS is not doing the Super Bowl

Big question for me - will Jimmy Johnson's glass of water he poured freeze before teh end of the pregame show?

After reading the below article, I have to simply ask myself WHY oh WHY didn't Turner play Volek with Rivers having a torn ACL? :dang::dang::dang: It was obvious throughout the game that Rivers could not properly plant his right leg before throwing the ball.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80627597&template=with-video&confirm=true

Rivers had minor surgery, has torn ligament in right knee
Associated Press

SAN DIEGO -- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said Monday that he had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee a week ago in order to play in the AFC Championship Game, and that he'll need surgery on the torn anterior cruciate ligament in the same joint.

Rivers made it through Sunday's 21-12 loss to the undefeated New England Patriots despite the damage to his knee, which he sustained in an upset win over the Indianapolis Colts a week earlier.

Rivers said he'd like to have surgery as soon as possible on the torn ACL.

"It's gone," he said. "I don't know exactly the details on that. I'll be ready by training camp."

Rivers said he had arthroscopic surgery a week earlier to clean out damaged cartilage.

"It wasn't real extensive, but I mean, really that was the only way I would have had a chance to play by doing that on Monday," he said. "I thought maybe I could come back in the Colts game but it was catching. That's what we did on Monday to give me the chance to play on Sunday."

Running back LaDainian Tomlinson said he's not going to need surgery on the sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, which he originally injured in the Indianapolis game.

Tomlinson carried only twice Sunday, both in the game's first drive, and caught a short screen pass the following series before retiring to the sideline for good.

Tomlinson said he'll probably sit out the Pro Bowl.
