If you are a die hard fan of a team…such as the Steelers, and your son gets drafted by the Cleveland Browns…do you change allegiances? What about when the Browns are playing the Steelers?

"Sorry son, I hope you are not injured when you play the Steelers next week, but go B&G!!!"

honestly, no. I would be happy for my son to have entered the nfl, but I would never change for the browns or any other team that isn't the steelers

I would wish him well when he's not playing the Steelers but how do you go from B&G to B&O??

That is easy. I root for both teams and when my son's team plays the Steelers I root for my son's team , if he is playing a reasonable amount of time. If he is on the practice squad or even injured reserve I root for the Steelers.

No son of mine would ever play for the Browns, Bengals or Ratbirds. Or the Cowboys for that matter.... Might as well toss in the Raiders too.

I would cheer for him, but will still be a Steeler fan. Then, we he becomes a free agent, sign with the Steelers.

Also, what about the kid. Suppose he was a life long Steeler fan. It would be tough to play for a team, when you cheered another for so long.

I would duct tape a Steelers jersey onto him...

At heart, i am always a Steelers fan.

However, blood MUST come first. family is more important then a sports team. In the totality of life, sports are just a fun side note to all except those who play or own the teams.

It wouldn't hurt the kid to root for him 14 out of 16 weeks. If I ever got a chance to play for a football team I wouldn't expect any of my friends to root against their own team to root for me.

I would wish him luck before the game, tell him his terrible diahrrea was definitely just nerves and assure him that his mother prepared his prior nights meal the same way she always does! :wink02:

I would totally support him no matter what team he decided to play for. I'd go to as many games as I could and cheer for him and his team (unless, of course, they were playing against the Steelers), but if his team was an AFCN foe, I'd have to be secretly hoping my son's team would get beat. :wink02:

I would be like got out and do your thing but when it comes sunday I am rooting for one team and one team only and that is the steelers but I would hope he plays will as an individual.

Honestly, I'd take that deal in a heartbeat. I just wouldn't pull for him 2 times in a year.

heck yeah, I'd take that deal too. if my kif made it to pro football I would be proud of him....doesn't mean I need to root for him if he was on the browns lol

Same here. I would wish him luck, but not to his team.
