as soon as he left the clowns he became a pro bowl alternate w/ the saints. he seems to be flying under the radar. for a team without a true solidified center, i wouldnt mind one bit if the steelers picked him up.

Faine was touted as a great center coming out of Notre Dame, much like Nick Mangold was. I dont think he would come cheap and bet he will be signed somewhere in the first week of FA, but you never know. He would definately solve some problems.

I would welcome him to our poor offensive line any day.

It isn't going to happen. It will either be Stapleton, Mahan, or a rookie at Center this season.

I tend to agree, I don't see them spending big money in the FA market for a center, for the 2nd year in a row.

They didn't sign Mahan as a center originally---He was brought in as a guard and as insurance for the center spot, but Ikobi was supposed to step up.

I do see us finding a O-lineman in FA and I think center is a glaring weakness. Darfting a guard first round and signing an experienced Center sounds good to me.

Faine is looking to become one of, if not the, highest paid center in the league. He won't end up in Pittsburgh. He's not a bad center, but his blocking can be suspect at times. I see a lot of Saints games, they are the wife's team and I follow pretty close.

I with ya jjpro..
This guy is a good center and the Steelers have no choice in my opinion as to suck it up and admit that they made a mistake last year with Mahan. I just dont know if the Steelers are willing to cut Mahan, because they would have to do this to have signing space to make a run at Faine. But I would love to see the guy in Black N Gold next season.

$6mil a year......was way too rich for steelers.

Maybe something in a Mike Flynn is more in the price range. :)
