Governor Paterson appears to be an upstanding good man who is committed to doing a good job for the people of NY.

Plus, unlike his predecessor, he is unlikely to spend taxpayer money pimping Ho's - .:coffee: -always a plus in a Governor. :tt02:

If it didn't have to happen the way it did it would be better. but, it's not about what happened in the past, it's about him now, and I wish him good luck

The crucible of a Presidential race would have brought out his infideility in a heartbeat.

Then there's this from New Jersey:

Where is your hard line stance on those who have commited adultery?

Ummmmm, NC, I made my original post BEFORE the story broke on Governor Paterson's extra extracurricular activities. :buttkick:

I do not condone adultery by any stretch of the imagination, but as long as this guy didn't use taxpayer money for his trysts, I'm not going to crucify him. He denies that allegation and if it turns out that he did fund his extramarital romps in the hay with tax dollars, he should be tossed out of the Governor's mansion on his ear. His wife is well aware of his adultery and he is well aware of hers. If no taxpayer money was involved and this is all of the dirt that can be dug up on him, I don't feel this revelation is grounds for his removal as Governor. I felt the same way about Clinton's dalliances with Monica Lewinsky (but on the other hand, I don't blame him for turning to another woman - would you want to wake up next to that rotweiler every morning?) My issue with Clinton was that he lied about it - thus far (and as far as we know at the present), Governor Paterson didn't. I would bet dollars to donutz that the Governor and other top elected officials in your state (and mine) have had a side dish or two or three since being elected into office. Is it morally right? Imho - no, but having been involved heavily in politics in the 80's and 90's, I saw (and heard) a lot worse than whispers about adulterous affairs.

Would YOU want to wake up next to that rabid dog? :jawdrop:

She may not be an adulterer, but she's got more skeletons in her closet than Steelers have fans (exag.).

Do some research on your savior before you start talking about skeletons.

My savior is Jesus Christ and I don't need to do any research on Him.

My Savior blew up the Death Star and defeated the Dark Lord of the Sith...

or was my Savior the one who tossed the "one ring" into the fires of Mount Doom and defeated that Dark Lord...

Oh wait, no it was the guy who destroyed the Horcuxes and defeated that Dark Lord.

oh man...I have a lot of Saviors...

I'm guessing, New York will have a Republican Governor sooner than later.

Just saying , shouldn't be so quick to praise the new guy.

I don't mean to start any long debate again, but I'm pretty sure Bill Bilechick didn't use any tax payer money for his affairs. I know apples and oranges right?

Just saying - I'm not going to throw stones at the guy because of his actions outside of the Governor's office, though again - I don't personally condone that behavior. His wife is rumored to have been pitching woo with others, as well. If they have come to grips with the indiscretions in their marriage and are trying to work it out which they appear to be doing, God bless 'em. If I had a dollar for every politico who had an extra-marital affair, I'd be a millionnaire.

Yes - you are comparing apples and oranges, NC. It is Beliprick's* other not so honorable "deeds" coupled WITH the adultery that makes him, in my eyes, a total douchebag.

So the conservatives made a smear movie. If Mike Moore had done a movie like that about McCain, you'd be screaming bloody murder.
