I really do like Willie but he just doesnt find the endzone he had over 1300 yds last year and only 2 TD's he has 19 TD's in 4 years thats like a little over 4 a year. I also know that he is know for breaking the long run but his longest run last year was only 32 yds. So I'll set the over/under at 10 I say under he'll get about 7 or 8.

Based on the stats above I will say he has 6 this year. I would love to see him have a plus 10 year.:tt::tt02:

If the offensive line improves, the passing game will open up even more and the odds of him being able to pop off long runs will improve. It's WAY too early to tell, though...

I'll go under (going with 7) but hope I'm way off.

Let's have the leading rusher, and scorer.

Under. Too bad we can't just pull the battery and put him on blocks for a season. The brutality beset upon Willie this season will take its toll on his career.

He's a warrior.

thats y i think we need to have najah/moore w/ more carries or draft a rb to take carries off of him....

willie should have at least the same amount of rushing yrds as last yr

I'm liking the over here.

12.

A very inconsistent 12, though, with 2 here and zero there.

I'm gonna side with Crush on this one. Willie's been proving himself since he came into this league. I think he'll be out for the kill this year, but with the sporadic nature of speed backs, I agree with the 2 here zero there prediction.

1400 Yards, 12 TD's, 6 fumbles

I would have to say that with our improved passing game that it will be under or around 10. I look for Ben to have another pro bowl year myself and until we can get a back to relieve Willie some and give him more energy at the end of the games, he is gonna wear down again this season. The Steelers should try to get us a nice power back in this upcoming draft.

12 seems a little too much for willie. too inconsistent of a runner

he had 13 rushing tds and 3 receiving tds in 2006

I believe that Willie didn't find the endzone much last year was a combination of our porous offensive line and the fact that Davenport came in more on goal line carries. Also Arians called a lot of PA in the red zone last season.

ben threw a steelers record of td's. this took td's away from willie, along with najeh getting more goalline carries. willies td wealth from the year before was just spread out more in arians new offense.

looking at willies game by game yardage from last season shows he was anything but inconsistant. he had eight 100 yard games and he only had 3 games with less than 80.

i would think willie can easilly have 11, as our offense continues to develop.

Well, if my theory about Najeh not being on team come kickoff in September hold true, then Willie will get the bulk of the redzone carries. And with Moore coming in from Minnesota, our RB screens will be utilized more for both Willie and Moore, I predict Willie gets over 10 TDs this season, including 10 rushing alone, and maybe 3 on passes, screens and quick wheel routes. 13 tds for Willie at least.

Willie had to share carries with Bettis the year before, and the Bus handled all the goal line chores. Parker gets his TD's on longer breakaways, and those type's of "splash plays" (to quote Tomlin) just didn't happen for us last year. The stats tell it all:
2006 Parker had 12 carries of 20+, and 3 carries of 40+ and his long was 76
2007 He had 12 20+ again, but zero over 40, and his long was only 32.

His big gets are the ones that land him in the endzone.

i can see more draws coming this yr if we open the passing game even more... all i care about is if the steelers win.. rather than getting willie his td's.. but we need other backs to take of the carries so he can stay healthier in the end of the season... and we will have more success i think at the screens when moore is in there when najah was...

I'll guess about 5. He's never been a great option for pounding the ball into the end zone from the 2-yard line, and that's how RBs get half their touchdowns, if not more.

I don't see him getting many chances to improve on that this year either. We seem to be trying out one semi-experienced free agent a year to fill the role of a more powerful rusher, so it ain't gonna be Willie getting a lot of those carries.

w/ the off opening up like i said b4.. willie could get more touchdown's receiving the ball wether it's a screen and a quick shuttle pass...

Just for grins
Willie Parker, 81 Years old from Clinton NC. Escaped from jail way back when and is under house arrest. He was just told he could NOT visit his dying sister in NY. Our Willie Parker is from Clinton NC, There is a gang of Parkers up there. Wonder if our Willie is named for Jailbird Willie?

See what happens when you have an off season NFL?! haha.

he is about a clone of willie (both 209 lbs and 5'10-11'.

mewelde is the clear cut back-up to parker (with more returnability and receptions out of the backfield experience).
