So it 2:45 AM and I'm sitting here with NFL Network doing some draft research and posting on a Steelers board.....AM I SICK OR WHAT:chuckle:

I do not anticipate us picking up any more free agents until after the draft (in fact, I'm a little shocked at our relative high level of activity in free agency so far!). That being said, I wonder if there are any stop-gap free agents we may bring in. I can think of three possibilities right now:

1. Rod Coleman DT formerly ATL

2. Booger McFarland DT formerly INDY

3. Kyle Brady TE formerly NE

4. Ty Law CB formerly KC

Which, if any, of these guys would you want(at a reasonable price of course). Is there anyone I'm missing?

Well, I’m not really pining for anyone on the list, but also think any of them could help us. However, I'm not sure Colemen fits into our 3-4 schemes. What D did Atlanta play last year? Law may or may not have anything left, but I don't see the Steelers signing him either. Brady would be ok since our offensive coordinator likes TE's. Still, I’ll have to go with Booger. I just think if his knee heals he could fit nicely with the Steelers. Plus, let’s face it, having a Booger on the team just opens up so many “snarky” possibilities.

I think we are still interested in booger, rumor has it when he heals and can pass a physical he is going to be in a steeler uniform.

I have read that somewhere as well. But I dont see any of those other players much unless its Kyle Brady giving us depth and experience.

I have to go with OFTT here. Out of those FA possibilities, the only player I think could benefit the Steelers is Booger McFarland IF he can rehab that knee, get himself into playing shape and pass the team physical.

None of them. I think the nucleus of our team is good as it is. Whatever else we need, I think needs to come through the draft.

, get himself into playing shape and pass the team physical.

While money can sometimes buy happiness it obviously doesn't always motivate. How in the hell can't ten grand per day give cats like Booger an incentive to lay off the second bucket and go for a swim.

Here is a player that could contribute plenty. Instead he is probably sucking down diet pills in a sauna and eating alfalfa. Or. Probably not. Who cares.

Maybe he can join the sports media bubble before it bursts too.

None of them are worth the time, cept if thy do not address the secondary... then Law might be nice for a year or 2 to bring him home.

Booger. A little rotation on the defensive line will not hurt. At a veterans salary and a 100% healthy knee he could really help out

From what I understand there was some discrepancy with the whole thing. A failed physical, I think.

I know we're in pretty good shape for OLB, but I was reminded today that Takeo Spikes is still out there looking for work.....
