batch had just thrown an interception and it looked like doom when brett farve took a quick strike for the endzone. a pass interference penalty on polamalu set the ball up on the pittsburgh 3 yd. line. it looked like doom with 1st down, goal to go for the packers.

then, with its finest impersonnation of an offensive unit, the steelers methodically marched the ball down the field and scored a td that proved to be all the points steelers needed to secure a victory:

1-10-PIT36 (14:52) B.Favre pass incomplete to D.Driver.
PENALTY on PIT-T.Polamalu, Defensive Pass Interference, 33 yards, enforced at PIT 36 - No Play.
1-3-PIT3 (14:45) B.Favre pass incomplete to B.Franks.
2-3-PIT3 (14:40) S.Gado right tackle to PIT 2 for 1 yard (L.Foote, J.Farrior).
3-2-PIT2 (13:59) PENALTY on GB-A.Klemm, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at PIT 2 - No Play.
3-7-PIT7 (13:59) PENALTY on GB-B.Franks, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at PIT 7 - No Play.
3-12-PIT12 (13:59) (Shotgun) B.Favre sacked at PIT 23 for -11 yards (B.McFadden). FUMBLES (B.McFadden), RECOVERED by PIT-T.Polamalu at PIT 23. T.Polamalu for 77 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

great job no only to bail out batch for the int but for polamalu to atone for his penalty setting the ball up at the 3 yd line. the defenses ability to dictate and push around the opponents in the red zone has been critical in just about every game this season.

its these types of scenarios that are gonna get the steelers seasonned for a playoff run. teams like the packers and ravens are gonna play us as hard as teams like the pats and chargers, indy and cincy. its actually better that these sub par opponents DONT roll over and let us put 500+ yards of offense up and 35 points cause that is not the type of situation this team will face in a superbowl run. sure it would be nice to see the steelers stomp teams like the colts did last year but what did that get the colts in the playoffs? 3 points in a humiliating loss to the pats. even the colts have been practicing winning ugly this season. in fact no team is really winning pretty. the steelers will be no exception especially with the injuries. with drives like these though i see the steelers improving and getting stronger as the season goes on.

We will be well worked and tested by the time the playoffs come there is no doubt.. we'll be battle tested and we know already know how to win the close games..

but those drives where the pack hogged up 17 minutes of clock time was just crazy !! that should NEVER happen!

what was it like 29 plays? that stuff will kill you against a good team. its like they go into the prevent defense on every 3rd down. good qb's especially with a spread out defense have always killed our prevent d

prevent defense or any kinda of lack of blitzing/pass rush defense just sucks!! when we play our style of defense we can stop anyone..but when we sit back and give a 10 yd cushion to the WR's on a 3rd and 9 play..just pisses me off!!!
