congrats to a fine young, beautiful, talented, lady who should be looked at as a role model by all. she beat scott dixon and the leagues superstar, helio castroneves. i hear those guys are pretty good.

much to jeremy's dismay, while in the winners circle, she did not strip down to her thong, slide her oiled up buttcrack up and down a strippers pole or perform oral sex on an official for money to prove what a talentless tramp she really is.

oh well, maybe after her next win.

MOTEGI, Japan (AP) - Danica Patrick became the first female winner in IndyCar history Sunday, taking the Indy Japan 300 after the top contenders were forced to pit for fuel in the final laps.

Patrick finished 5.8594 seconds ahead of pole-sitter Helio Castroneves after leader Scott Dixon went in for a pit stop with five laps remaining.

"It's a long time coming. Finally," Patrick said. "I was managing to save fuel and keep the speed up and when I saw Helio I knew he was the one to beat."

The race was rescheduled for Sunday because of wet track conditions Saturday on the 1.5-mile Twin Ring Motegi oval.

Patrick won in her fourth season in the series.

"Thank you to Andretti Green. Thanks to to my teammates," she said.

She finished a career-best seventh in season standings last year, and was second in the race at Detroit's Belle Isle.

At the 2005 Indy 500, she nearly won the pole and became the first female driver to lead the race, finishing fourth. It was the best finish by a woman at Indy, and helped her take rookie of the year honors.

meh..... white trash :chuckle:

didn't watch the race , too excited with the St. Pierre- Serra ufc match, but good for her. someday hopefully we'll have even more women winning

"With five laps to go, I was saving fuel," Castroneves said. "When Danica passed me, I realized she was the leader. She did a great job, passed me fair and square and that shows you how competitive our series is."

she seems to be really respected by some of the best. here's to many more titles

then why are we watching? :tap:

She earned her keep by working through all the open wheel circuits in Europe, the same circuits all the F-1 guys have to traverse. She earned her ride and definitely deserves the victory. Congrats, Danica!

Good for her!

She was indeed up against some pretty "stiff" :wink02: competition in that race and I'm glad to hear she came out "on top". :wink02:

Congrats Danica! :drink:

Congratulations, Danica. A weight has been taken off her back.

Before then, I always thought she was overhyped because you know, "She's a women driver competing against guys! Girl Power!" but now she won, so now she's no longer an overhyped driver who underachieves and doesn't win anything.

Now win it all.
