He says coach made up racism allegation against him, then offered him job at U-M for silence.
A former fundraiser for West Virginia claims Michigan's new coach, Rich Rodriguez, concocted an allegation of racism against him, then offered him a job at U-M in exchange for his silence.
Larry Aschebrook, who was executive director of the Mountaineer Athletic Club, the athletic department's private fundraising arm, said in a sworn affidavit Rodriguez and one of his top assistants, Calvin Magee, invented a racist incident.
Their purpose was to aid Rodriguez in WVU's $4 million lawsuit against him, Aschebrook says. Rodriguez signed a contract containing a buyout clause for that amount but now says the university broke its terms as well as other verbal promises made to him.
