It seems that most, if not all years that the teams rotate the order of their home and away games with their divison opponenets. (IE if the Steelers play at Browns first then at Home, that trend flips the next year)

The 2008 schedule appears to have kept the same order for all our division opponenets as last year which is the first time I remmeber that happenning.

Vs Brownstains, then Home Brownstains
Vs Bengals then Home Bengals
Home Rats then VS Rats

Can anyone shed any insight if this is a sort of soft rule normally followed when the leauge schedules games each year ?
Just been wondering..... and apprecitae any insight.....

Could be something to it, but I have never heard anything written in stone about it. It would make sense for the league to do that wouldnt it?
Good Question though that I dont know the answer to
:noidea:

I don't think so...if I recall correctly we played baltimore at home on Monday night and then a few weeks later (towards the end of the season) we played them again in baltimore.

I think it has more to do with other events going on in the stadiums, plus ensuring that no team gets a loaded schedule (too many games home or away at one time). It's hard to tell, maybe contact the NFL HQ in NY and ask them.

maybe this time around the nfl didn't want to make the steelers play home games when the high-school games were be playing the same time.. they don;t want another game like we had against the dolphins

As stlrtruck stated I think it has alot to do with events scheduled at the stadium.

From my experience that night, it wouldn't have mattered if you had a perfectly laid field, that storm was out of season and it made for a horrendous evening.

but still it didn't help matter to have a field destroyed by prev weather and other games within days.. And then to put new sod overtop of the old one.. it was a lose-lose situation that week
