A traditional blue collar Pittsburgher is often referred to as a "Yinzer."

Yinz is a word used in Pittsburgh. Like are yinz going out tonight?

i think i heard ppl say that when i went to PA three summers ago. but i didn't got to pittsburg i went to some small ass town called i don't know how it's spelled but shamokin or some shit like that and they talked like that. i just laughed cause it was a lot different from the way we talk in texas

Actually, it's just the same...substitute "Yinz" for "Ya'll" and you got it...

yeah that's what i figured after prosdo said yinz going out tonight, cause the ppl we stayed with kept saying that yinz like kanobals or whatever that carnival looking thing is we went to, and yinz like PA.....which i replied it's no texas but it's nice lol

"Yinz" evolved from the Scottish "You Ones"

Whenever I start shit up at other boards, I always make sure to use the word "yinz" or "yinzers" as many times as possible...it really gets them fired up and pissed off...

And call them the Stillers.

Yup...it takes all the wind out of their sails when you take away their supposed "flames" before they can use them.

As in "Carr"?

How do you diffuse the ever-popular "Pissburgh Squeelers"?

How do you diffuse the ever-popular "Pissburgh Squeelers"?

Ignore it and launch a counter attack of "shock and awe" proportions. I only hit the Browns and Ravens sites now, so it's relatively easy.

Oh my...you guys got me thinking about some stuff, so I went over to Digital Dawgs and checked my smack. Seems one of the guys who's claiming to be a lawyer in LA is saying "So where were you in '03 when your team went 6-10...we never saw you here"

I checked back, and, sure as shit, I had a post before, during and after the 2nd Steelers Browns game in '03.

Archive's are great. Aren't lawyers never supposed to ask a question they don't know the answer too?

Koopa yinz must not be from the Burgh! I get teased about my yinz all the time. Yinzers from the Burgh is a saying I use over ond over here and everywhere, Only true Burgh people get it
