I LOVE it when we give the number of a recently departed FA who left for big money to a rookie replacement.
Hail to the new 66 whether he turns out to be a starter or not.

with mendenhall with 34 it makes me think of him more as a fullback i am not sure it just seems like he should have a lower number.

I've never been a fan of WR's having numbers in the teens. Not sure why, just never have. And Mendenhall I think may be able to be as productive as Bettis, but won't have the same power as Bettis.

i don't care what number they wear as long as they kick ass on the field

34 is a very tough number to wear. Lots of HOFs wore that number throughout the history of the NFL. Very high expectations now for him.

Was hoping that Bruce Davis would take # 55.
Seems like he may grow into the Joey Porter mold for that jersey number.

Should give Mendenhall 22 so that we can ignore the Duce Staley Sideline Experiment!

I'm sure Terry Bradshaw wouldn't mind a rookie wearing his number.

I'm pretty sure Bradshaw's #12 is unofficially retired.

I think that the number 34 should be good for Mendenhall. I would have given Sweed 80 instead of 14. I don't .like WR's with a teens number. I know Mendenhall can't have 35 cause Dan Kreider still has 35.
