Former Steeler offensive lineman of the late 70's/early 80's died recently due to a freak accident...

He was cutting down a tree in fayette county, when the tree was looking like it was heading for his dog on its way down, he tried to grab his dog and get out of the way, the tree landed killing hilmself and his dog.

Just heard it on KDKA.

what a bummer. its been a bad year for unnatural death for ex steelers. dropping a weightbar on ones neck, high speed chase and head butting a semi tanker truck and now this. what gives?

Sad news. Rest in peace Steve Courson. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Ray Mansfield, Mike Webster, Justin Strzelczyk, Terry Long and now Steve Courson.

All of them gone entirely too early.

It IS freaky...we have lost way too many lineman to weird circumstances, and all in a relatively short period of time.

Steve was an animal on the field....And one of the nicest guys off. And the way he went, well... it says volumes of the type of man he was.
