Dedrick Roper was signed to the Eagles roster after Eagle's LB Jason Short broke his leg and went out for the season. Roper will most likely be activated this week to play on special teams. Due to Roper's signing, the Steelers signed LB Richard Seigler and QB Rod Rutherford to the team's practice squad, and released WR Chris Samp. Roper was good for the Steelers, because he had been on the team for about a year and gave a little experiance to a LB core that now has only one healthy starter and mostly rookie backups, the only exception being Seigler, and veteran Clint Kriewaldt.
