I remember most about Carnell that he played Strong Safety for the first several years for the Steelers and thanks to injuries and lack of depth he was switched to CB and ended up being in the pro-bowl at both positions. What do you remember most about Carnell Lake?

hell yeah i remember Carnell Lake

He was awesome. If the Steelers had their own hall of fame, Lake would definitely be in it

I hated when Lake left us, he was a great Steeler DB. Didn't he end up going to the freaking Jags. I hated that.

What do I remember most about Lake? I remember him smashing the other team's offensive players into the turf really hard.

Carnell Lake was a LB at UCLA and the Steelers transformed him into a Pro-Bowl SS and then moved him to DB where he continued to get the job done and made another pro-bowl there. This guy should in my opinion be in the Hall of Fame, but he probably wont be.

Great player. When he left the Steelers he played for the Jags for one season and finished his career with one year in Baltimore.

Carnell and Woodson was a huge tandem that no one wanted to face. Carnell Lake was an awesome DB that played lights out.

Man I was pissed when he ended up in Jax.

What i remember most about Lake is him being unselfish. He was an all-pro safety and made the move to cornerback when the Steelers needed him there

If I remember right, he was the Steelers' version of Jack Tatum. Hard hitting, aggressive safety.

Carnell was the man ! Combined with hot Rod they were awesome ! Still cheesed that group of players never got their ring.....

Sidenote: Carnells name stuck with me from early in his career as I remember watching highlights of Steelers Dolphins game when huge rainstorms hit and remember ESPN Chris Bermen refring to the rain and feild, and how I believe lake returned a fumble for a TD. He was playing off his last name being "Lake" with all the water on the feild.
