all on offense in what hopefully should be the prime of their careers. scary.

and ben will be the grizzled old vet of the group in his 9th season (or basically where manning and brady* are in their respective careers). :tt03::tt02::helmet:

"...the futures so bright, i gotta wear shades"

oh.... and 5 years of drafts to repair the line and maintain the #1 defense in the nfl, all while getting younger and still easilly remaining under the cap.

I look forward to this. I think this year is going to be a great year for the offense.

Very exciting indeed. But, since Arians is the coordinator, I think I need to make an adjustment.

It should read:

ben QB
mendenhall TE
holmes TE
sweed &
miller TE's

Also John Kuhn TE

I don't know about that, you know how cheap the Rooney's are. :flap:

5 years from now we should have two more sb wins. :tt02:

:applaudit:Hey, dont forget our defense.

Lamar Woodley
Lawrence Timmons
Anthony Smith
Bruce Davis
Anthony McBean

I honestly think with the year of experience that Smith got last season will very much improve. Woodley and Timmons have the chance to be very special LB's in our alignment.

This truly sounds like a pro-bowl-caliber team in the making

Certainly more promising than the Tommy Maddox era.

Good QB........check
Good running backs.......check
Good WR's........ check
Good secondary.....check
Good line backers (up for debate at this point, but I'd say).....check

Can Tomlin and staff put it all together......remains unchecked......IMO

(and I like Tomlin as a person, but talent, he has)

The only thing I know about 5 years from now is that it will be 2013.

Certainly more promising than the Tommy Maddox era.

And undoubtedly more promising than the Carson Palmer-CJ-TJ era

Sorry to rain on the parade, but if there is no salary cap....the Rooneys can pay whatever they want, but a lot of these guys will be poached for more money.

If there is a salary cap, then some of these players will command more $$ elsewhere, but the Steelers can choose who they want to target and hopefully keep.

Unfortunately we cant just say 5 years from now the same great players will be here, but no matter what, if you are a Steelers fan, you better hope the NFLPA accepts some kind of salary cap, or those players will all be in New York, LA, New England, Washington, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Miami

as long as in 5 years from now my right hand is as weighed down as much as my left hand is due to the increased amount of rings I'm wearing...I'm good to go !!!

Certainly more promising than the Tommy Maddox era.

The two years Maddox was the primary starter ..we went 16-15-1 (made the playoffs his first year)

In those same two years...the bungles were 10-22

Lamar Woodley
Lawrence Timmons
Anthony Smith
Bruce Davis
Anthony McBean

Wow did we go out and sign a DE prospect? Who is this Anthony McBean guy? Hopefully he plays better than Ryan McBean that will be lucky to even make our roster.

And I think Anthony Smith isn't a forgone conclusion in 5 either.

If healthy I think Davis, Timmons, And Wood will be around. But we will have to see how they develop. As 2 out f the 3 are question marks until they prove otherwise.

Saying this I am excited about their potential and I can't wait for the season. Go Steelers!
