Great player. Just, who's sick of seeing him run 18 yards on a return to net two? I know he could be a gamebreaker by doing that, but he could also cost a turnover as well. Just run the damn ball man!

Oh yea, what's with the current mood box? How do I do it?

That was a hell of a pass... that shows how much confidence we have in Tommy when we got El throwing TD's.

I see your point. When El does his spin moves and gets hit I'm afraid the ball is going to launch out. It works for him so I guess its good.

WR Hines Ward

Q: Talk about the reverse pass (Randle El to Ward, 51 yards for touchdown, 3rd quarter)

A: The reverse pass was set up the week before (vs. Green Bay). We ran the first play of the game where Antwaan came around ? I threw a huge block during that reverse. We tried to set it up the same way ? I came down and tried to block the safety. Their corner thought we were running the reverse again, so he bit on the run and left the safety on the inside of me.

We knew it was going to go for a touchdown. All week, that?s all we kept saying. I told Antwaan to just throw it up and let me run up under it. He did a great job, and threw an excellent ball. Once I caught it, I dove in ? it was a special play.

That play was on the money. Awesome play!

That was an awesome play to see live, the crowd went berserk !!! El really is the best punt returner he has..sometimes you get a chance to make a big play and sometimes you dont...I'll take El back there though over anyone else at this point.

I love how they set it up last week against GB then they pulled out the "WHOOOOP" (stolen from berman) he is going to throw it... Very nice play.

Randle el is not the return man we need. That is a definte place for improvement.

Like someone said against Green Bay. Slash 2.0

El can return kicks and punts, play and thrive in all 3 reciever positions, and throw the ball!

Why not put him in at center too? lol

I just hope we're able to hold onto him after this year, his contract is up and he's come up big this season, but will the Steelers sign 2 big WR contracts in 2 years? hmm...

Its funny how everyone was doggin Randel El weeks ago for the patriots game and all of a sudden he is supposedly the next coming of mike vick in pittsburgh without the attitude if he gets his chance at qb

My only problem with him is I wish he would just use his speed and run forward on punt returns instead of spin three times, run 3 yards sideways, reverse field, go back the way he came, then get tackled. When he actually breaks one of those, yeah, it's great! But mostly, he won't. Speed kills. He's got it. Use it wisely.

With regard to Randle-El being back next year, Ed Bouchette of P-G has said Ward and Wilson (what a terrible free agent signing!) are already being paid starters' salaries and the Steelers probably do not have the inclination to come near what Randle-El will make on the open market; same reason they made no serious effort to sign Burress once they decided to retain Hines.

The NY Times has an article on how signings this off-season are going to be complicated if no new collective bargaining agreement is reached due to how many years bonuses can be prorated. Assuming Randel-El is gone, maybe they can retain Chris Hope - can't keep everyone, but that is the price of a salary cap that avoids having Dallas & Washington sign all the talent and keeps smaller market teams such as the Steelers competitive.
