ESPN's live daytime news skein "SportsCenter" is relaunching with a new format on Aug. 11.

Show will air live Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET -- a departure for the network, which previously aired encore episodes of "SportsCenter" during the day, with occasional updates.

The recently tapped Hannah Storm (NBC Sports, CBS' "The Early Show") will be joined by current ESPN anchors Steve Berthiaume, Linda Cohn, Josh Elliott, Robert Flores and Chris McKendry.

The schedule consists of three shifts. Cohn and Berthiaume will get the ball rolling at 6 a.m., and Storm and Elliott will continue at 9. McKendry and Flores will dish out the latest in sports news from noon to 3 p.m.

What ever happened to it actually being a SPORTS channel?

Remember the days when you could turn to espn and watch baseball, football, soccer, Autralian rules football, rugby, etc. etc.?

I think that's what the Deuce is for now. And even that a bit sketchy.

But live Wimbledon starts tomorrow morning on ESPN2 and they been showing the European soccer matches live as well. ( Unfortunately I'm at work and can't watch)

Same thing tht happened to ESPN Classic no longer running videos of "classic" games and instead running American Gladiators and a series of Five Reasons You Can't Blame Whomver For Whatever - higher ratings

More viewers want to watch highlights of major sports than actual minor sports being played
