POTTER VALLEY, Calif. A Mendocino County woman who was trying to kill mice in her trailer with a gun ended up shooting herself and another person.

The 43-year-old woman pulled out her .44-caliber Magnum revolver after she saw the mice scurrying across the floor of her trailer on Highway 20 in Potter Valley, sheriff's officials said.

But she accidentally dropped the gun, which went off as it struck the floor. The bullet went through the woman's kneecap, bounced off the keys sitting on the belt loop of a 42-year-old man in the trailer and grazed the man's groin before ending up in his coin pocket.

Authorities did not release the shooting victims' names.

The mice escaped the shooting unharmed.

I know what you're thinking, Mickey, "Did he fire six shots, or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But, being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya mouse?

I have heard that Kevin Costner is writing a screen play...based on the conspiracy theory that there is no way that the magic bullet could have come from just one gun.

Reminds me of the story below. Apparently firearms are becoming the Swiss Army Knife of the twenty first century. Its not just a weapon, its a mousetrap and an impact wrench!

Man hospitalized after using shotgun to loosen lug nut

Story Updated: Nov 12, 2007 at 9:43 AM PDT
By Associated Press
SOUTHWORTH, Wash. (AP) - A man trying to loosen a stubborn lug nut blasted the wheel with a 12-gauge shotgun, injuring himself badly in both legs, Kitsap County sheriff's deputies said.

The 66-year-old man had been repairing a Lincoln Continental for two weeks at his home northwest of Southworth and east of Port Orchard and had gotten all but one of the lug nuts off the right rear wheel before getting frustrated Saturday afternoon, Deputy Scott Wilson said.

"He's bound and determined to get that lug nut off," Wilson said.

From about arm's length the man fired the shotgun at the wheel and was "peppered" in both legs with 00 buckshot and other debris, with some injuries as high on his body as his chin, according to a sheriff's office report.

"Nobody else was there and he wasn't intoxicated," Wilson said.

South Kitsap Fire and Rescue personnel treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Tacoma General Hospital with injuries Wilson described as "severe but not life-threatening."

He said deputies were unable to get a full statement from the man, relying only on what they could learn while medics treated him at the scene.

"I don't think he was in any condition to say anything," Wilson said. "The pain was so severe, and the shock."

Y'know - I've been asking myself that lately when reading some of the posts on this board. :chuckle::wink02:

What a Dumb Dora. Bet those mice are having a good little snicker like those birds on the Windex commercial who watch that guy trying to walk through the nice clean glass, hitting the window head first and falling on his doopa.
