After leading the Steelers in rushing each of the last two weeks, Duce Staley will step aside for a new starter against the Baltimore Ravens.

Willie Parker, who missed Sunday night's game against the Cleveland Browns with an ankle injury, will return as the starting halfback against the Ravens -- the position he has held since the beginning of the season.

Coach Bill Cowher made the decision official on the same day he said Tommy Maddox would be the starting quarterback against the Ravens. Cowher said Parker, the sixth-leading rusher in the AFC with 612 yards, is "looking good."

Staley, who started and rushed for a team-high 64 yards against the Browns, will probably be deactivated for the Ravens game after aggravating a knee injury Sunday night. Staley rushed for 76 yards on 15 carries against Green Bay, his first carries since the AFC championship game in January.

Staley returned to practice yesterday, though he worked solely with the scout team. He is listed as questionable on the injury report.

Cowher, though, said he has not decided if he will dress Staley or running back Jerome Bettis (quad/probable) for the Ravens. He said it could be a game-day decision.

"It's a nice problem to have," Cowher said.

Willie will need to literally carry this team this week. This is his time to prove his worth.

He better "carry" the team, I need him to put up a couple hundred yds and 3 TD's if I have any shot at winning this week........I have to face LT for God sakes :chug:

I say just go back to Bus / Parker... it's worked well for us this year so far for the most part...and if Staley is hurt again, the last thing we need to do is rush him back if Bus is better and parker is back.

I think we will see all our running backs today! But I`m not so sure that this is a good thing, or not. Bettis always talked about getting into the flow of the game. Is 10 carries a piece, enough for our backs???
