The Steelers added a new name to their roster today when they claimed third-year defensive end Kevin Huntley off waivers from the Washington Redskins. Huntley (6-7, 290) originally signed with the Oakland Raiders as a rookie free agent from Kansas State in 2006. He played in the final five games of his rookie season with Oakland and registered 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a recovered fumble. He spent the 2007 season with the Atlanta Falcons and recorded three tackles while playing in five games.
The Steelers made room for Huntley on their roster by releasing rookie free agent defensive end Kyle Clement.

Anybody know anything about this guy?

Any K state fans remember him? UFA in 2005, looks like a camp body and PS material to me.

If the Falcons cut him, he can't be too good.:chuckle:
Their thinking may be that he's better suited for a 3-4:noidea: or they needed another body for the right side. Or both.

Or maybe if you you do the exact opposite of everything they do in Atlanta......never mind

I would think that this guy may be part of a revamping of our 3-4 defense to include a nickle package that has 4 down linemen. I mean, you can't run a 3-4 every down of every game for 10 years without someone catching on. Maybe he's just Practice Fodder but maybe he's in camp to see about becoming Relief on 3rd downs and getting some of our run stoppers off the field. 6'7" with hands up in the air on a pass play sure cuts into passing lanes.

I think our team would definitely stand to benefit if Ben Roethlisberger started breeding fighting cats.
