Okay we`ve had polls on everything form favorite player, best lb, rb, qb etc. Who is the best Steeler ever? Not your favorite, not the best of his era, or this era. Not at any one position. Just who is the all time Steeler, who is a real, real Steeler!

I love them all, Bradshaw, J.Greene, K.Greene, Woodson, Blount, Harris, Bus, Llyodd, on and on!

But Jack Lambert to me is the one Steeler who if I had to put a picture in a time capsule, to be opened in 100 years. I would want everyone in the year 2105, to look at and jump back and say" Holy Shit! That must have been one bad ass player, on a tough bad ass team!" A Picture with teeth missing, blood on the pants, growling ready to rip someones head off.

Jack Lambert to me is Pittsburgh, blue collar, tough. He is my ultimate Steeler!

I'm gonna have to go with Rocky Bleier. He IS what the Steeler franchise is about. He was picked 417th out of 441 players drafted into the NFL in his year. No one believed in him, but the Steelers gave him a chance. Then he went to Vietnam and got half his foot blown off. Came back and attended training camp. Got waived twice, but he kept fighting, and made the starting lineup in 1974. One of the best fullbacks the Steelers have ever had, rushed for 1,000 yards in 1976, and caught the pass to put us in the lead for the 1978 Super Bowl. Only in the Steel City...

If you talking about playing at a very high level, for a long period of time... You have to consider Dermonti Dawson.

Its one of these:

Lambert
Woodson
Bettis

I can't decide which one is all time best.

I agree, Jack Lambet is my favorite also. He just has that look that says "Dont F%& with me". He's kinda like the Clint Eastwood of the NFL. Matter of fact, my next Steeler Jersey is going to be Laberts jersey.

Sometimes I was wish I was older to remember all the players from the 70's. To me it's the BUS!! Hardest hitting, does what it takes to allow the team to win, and just bleeds black and gold!!!

Hell, I'd sacrifice a few years of mortality so I could enjoy the 70's Steelers Super Bowl victories.

The only Steelers Super Bowl I witnessed was against the cowboys in 1996.

I remember my brother (a cowboys fan still to this day) following me around everywhere teasing me, until I locked myself in my closet. :crying01:

Same here! It's the Bus for me as well. He just has always defined what it meant to be a true team player.

Well, there's been a TON of great Steelers but I think my vote goes to the original Steeler, Art Rooney. He stuck with the team when they weren't good, you never saw him Jerry Jones-ing it up on the sideline and he hired Knoll.

Good deal, but if we were going non-players, then yes Rooney would be 1, Chuck Noll 2. and Myrone Cope 3.

Since it's all-time players, I guess my vote would have to be for Mean Joe. After they drafted him as their #1 pick, they started winning. My favorite, though, was probably Greg Lloyd. What a mean bastard.

Mel Blount.No Question.

This man changed the NFL single handedly. He change the rules, plays and the thinking of the strong safety position.
He changed the game !!

Yeah there is. If you say Neil O'Donnel or Cliff Stout your wrong, wrong, wrong!

I see all the Bettis and Dawson votes. My only problem with that is we have always been recognized for our defense!

I always felt sorry for Bubby. Like you said, he really tried hard to be a good QB.
