21-3, only texans score cause of a turnover

so far so good

This is usually when we'd go into turtle ball mode in the past - I'd like to see the offense continue to attack. :tt:

Great play by williams. I'd put 3/4 of that sack on Marvel (willams is a beast though) and 1/4 on Ben. Gota keep getting rid of that ball quickly.

On Ben's fumble - Williams ran right around Smith and Kemo unblocked and Ben never saw him. He needs to hold on to it, yes, but I won't put all of the blame on him for that fumble.

Preacher

I'll take that.

I got a couple Grinders cooking up for me across the street... Better get this game to half time pretty quick!!!

cheap points by the texans. that better be it for the day. hope the defense is pissed for losing the shutout, and the offense is embarrassed for losing focus (and mario williams)

on a brighter side, the offensive juggernaut known as carson palmer is 2/7 i3 yds. and 1 int.

I freaking Love My Steelers!!!

Edman
09-07-2008, 02:48 PM
And so in one game, Willie Parker surpasses last year's TD total.

Not surprising. The Steelers are still pretty much a running team. Some say they should keep attacking, but after seeing Ben nicked up a little, that should be avoided right now.

25 point lead. Why fix what isn't broken?

tony hipchest
09-07-2008, 02:48 PM
as perfect as ben was in the 1st drive... that entire running drive was PERFECT. no stops at the line, no losses, and only 4 runs shorter than 6 yds (1 being willies 4 yd td).

congrats willie. 1st 3 td game of his career.

Keep attacking with the running game. Jam it right down their Necks and make them choke on it...metaphorically speaking of coarse...

and as for Ben being nicked up...when isn't he a little nicked up...he's like Terry B that way...he isn't playing good unless he's limping...GO Steelers!!!

I waited until it was truly convincing to comment, but the OL is not exactly facing a shiitly DL here and they look pretty good. They are also totally dominating at the point of attack now, when it's obvious that they are going to virtually nothing but run.

the texans have to respect our pass. and to think we are killing them w/o washington, sweed, baker, or our 3rd down rec out of the backfield back m. moore. holmes and spaeth have been kept under wraps.

all teams are gonna have to think LOOOONG and hard when its their turn to gameplan for the steelers.

I tried to tell friends of mine not to waste a 1st round pick (or any pick for that matter) on Brady. I knew he was due. Beliprick* put him on the injury list every week for the past 2 seasons with a fake shoulder injury. Bad karma was eventually going to bite A$$ Chin in the rump.

I got him in a couple of leagues, and even tho' he's having a monster of a day, I don't look for him to have this kind of a day every week. He is injury prone and I hesitated to take him, but he was still on the board in the 6th and 8th rounds when I took him.

In other news - the BUNGLES SUCK! Their shithole of a D just allowed Flacco, who ran like he was stepping over manure, to run in a long TD. :chuckle::chuckle:

Great game today. I was lucky enough to attend an "NFL Opening Day" gathering at a home with multiple TVs and Sunday Ticket. Needless to say I watched the game into the 2nd half when the game was well in hand.

Willie looked hungry (and was the stud of my FF team today! :tt02:).

The D looked great and the new guys (Timmons, Woodley) made contributions all day. Eason looked good as well.

Didnt like the garbage TDs in the 4th but not much that can be done there.

One adjustment for Cleveland...get Holmes the ball. He will be needed and so will a solid performance by the OL.

I'm very happy with this start...especially with Tomboy out for the year. :drink:
