Though the title may be a little misleading, I like what I'm seeing from these experts, Golic already said that there would be a classic battle of Cowboys-Steelers in this year's SB.

Thoughts???

I enjoy reading the power rankings, especially after the Steelers crush and are right at the top. But this early in the season, it usually a game of musical chairs and the rankings are little more than anecdotal at this point imo.....

Wow, replacing one team of premadonnas at the top with another. They must also have Tony Romo as the best QB in the league right now to. Hopefully the Steelers can reain near that spot in the 2nd half of the season. All Week 2 power rankings are really worth at this point is experts opinion on who they think are the best and who are not after 1 week.

Big whoop. And according to Carucci's power rankings (http://www.nfl.com/news/story;jsessionid=FA889B4FA667F1E57AF31D382B5C5258? id=09000d5d80aabf38&template=without-video&confirm=true), we're #10 (behind teams such as New Orleans and Chicago). I'm only glad this is the NFL where playoff berths and championships are settled entirely on the field and these numbnut sportswriters really have no relevance.

I resent the fact they all insinuate that we only have a shot because Asschin is out.

That team that I saw ram the ball down Houston's throat last Sunday could take Tom and the Cheats* any day.

New England has been a thorn in the side of the Steelers for quite some time. With Tom Brady out, the Steelers can start to dream big. (JW)

That pisses me off too. I can hear them compiling their list of excuses now when the Steelers kick the Cheats* asses in late November. :upyours:

Don't forget - "the NFL NEEDS Tom Brady". A constipated ass needs a suppository too.

dammit ,I want them to be a far away from # 1 in this "important" power rankings. I want them to be ranked 32 if it's possible, just so the team proves them all wrong

they got a chance now that brady is injured, give me a break :banging:

These poweranking never really matter.

This is the NFL where there is a playoff system to choose a champion.

its not just us. the talking heads are giving just about anybody a chance now that brady is done.

what a difference a game makes.

before the season, the steelers were an afterthought to the colts, bradys, jaguars, and chargers.

this is just like last year when the steelers were regarded as nothings, rose to contenders against the pats and colts, and fell from grace after losing to sucky teams like the jets.

hopefully this years steelers are more focussed on next weeks opponents as opposed to power rankings and praise being heaped on them.

So if we go to the Super Bowl this year it's not legitimate because Tom Brady was out?

this is why college football needs a playoff system. writers poping off on who they believe are the best teams blows

Well of course. Didn't you know the Golden Boy, and by extension, the Cheatriots as a team, transcend the sport and are greater than the very game itself?

Sports journalism in the 21st century = JOKE. :coffee:

Yes, as you know the 3 time defending champs are weakened. What's that? Pittsburgh, Indy and NY won the last 3 Super Bowls? Nevermind...

You didn't know that Brady*'s injury hurt your chances? The NFL needs Tom Brady afterall...and your team is just a minor portion of it, behind the*'s, Brett Favre, the *s and Brett Favre...with a little bit of Manning (pick your poison) the *s and Brett Favre.

It's an early ranking, you'll move up soon enough...or at least, they'll move down.

I think the Chiefs should be higher for injuring Brady. That shows brilliant strategy, along with heart and determination.

The real test will be next month when they play the Jets -- if they can injure Brett Favre as well, the Chiefs will move to No. 1 on my list.

No other SBs besides the ones the Cheatriots won* are hereby recognized by the media. They are the reigning 2004 SB champs for the 5th year in a row. So it has been decreed by the mighty sports pundits. Rumor also has it that Kraft has successfully petitioned Goodell to change the league's name from the "NFL" to the "NBBL" (National Brady Ballwashing League). :coffee:
